Former WBA junior welterweight champion "Vicious" Vivian Harris announced his retirement from boxing on his Facebook page earlier this week.
"I've said this once before, but the love of the sport of boxing brought me back to it. Boxing is something I've been doing since I was 9 years old, but after discussing this with my wife, we have decided to finally give up boxing for good. I thank God for everything he has blessed me with in my career," said Harris.
Born in Guyana, the Brookynite became WBA champ with a second round destruction of Diobelys Hurtado on October 19, 2002. Harris defended the title three times between 2002-04. Harris's last bout was a revenge victory over fellow former world champion DeMarcus Corley earlier this year.

These guys tend to stay around way past their shelf life. Heck, even Tavoris Cloud is returning to the ring after a near 5 year layoff.
