Featherweight prospect Jesus Arechiga (7-0, 6 KOs) went the distance for the first time in his career with a four round unanimous decision over David Martino (6-6). All three judges saw it 40-36.
Olympian Mikaela Mayer (9-0, 4 KOs) won an eight round unanimous decision over Calista Silgado (17-11-3). Silgado did well in the first half, but faded in the second half. All three judges scored it 80-72.
Super featherweight contender Jamel Herring (19-2, 10 KOs) continues to hunt for a world title shot with an eight round unanimous decision over Adeilson Dos Santos (19-6). All three judges had it 80-70.
Herring scored a flash knockdown over Dos Santos in round one and nearly dropped him again with a good shot during the first three minutes. In the second round, Herring scored a second knockdown with a straight shot down the pipe.
Herring seemed to roll his ankle around thefight round, which slowed him down a little in terms of movement and aggression. Dos Santos was really letting his hands go in the eight and final round, but it was too late to change the tide.
Arnold Barboza is pretty solid, but he's not on the level of Jose Ramirez. I'd love to see him fight Baranchyk. They were made for each other. They're both big, aggressive, and strong. It would make for an amazing fight. Ramirez would outbox him rather easily. His defense is too suspect, and he has no power to speak of.
i think Dashon Johnson showed Hart's style was too hard on his stamina if you took him late... Dashon would've won by TKO if the last round was a few seconds longer.
Another close round, with both having their moments, but - again- I score for Zurdo.
His shots are a bit cleaner and he seems to always have the last word in exchanges.
