Charlo to fight Korobov instead of Monroe
https://www.ringtv.com/550548-jermall-c ... drug-test/
That would be a good fight if Korobov didn't have to cut 8 additional pounds in one week. He will be in no condition to fight on top level after that.

Re: Charlo to fight Korobov instead of Monroe
charlo will smoke him either way. matts chinny ...will be a brutal finish. matts been irelevant since lee knocked hm out
Re: Charlo to fight Korobov instead of Monroe
At least he is a better oponent than Monroe. Too bad he has layoff and take this fight on last week notice. Korobov was a beast. but im not sure what he can do at saturday
Re: Charlo to fight Korobov instead of Monroe
im not sure hes better then monroe , especially now at almost 36 with 1 fight in the last 2 years

Re: Charlo to fight Korobov instead of Monroe
Wow, Korobov is a great fighter, but having to trim down in weight and having a short notice will be his downfall. Dude schooled Uzcategui who went on to become a force at 168. The Korobov who beat Uzcategui would've schooled Charlo. Too bad that version might be long gone now.
Re: Charlo to fight Korobov instead of Monroe
At least Korobov was training to fight the same day and had a fight this year already. I think even this version is still better than Monroe.
Re: Charlo to fight Korobov instead of Monroe
A one easy option instead of another. He'll KO aging Korobov.
Re: Charlo to fight Korobov instead of Monroe
I didn't know what had become of Korobov. He's been gone so long now I'd think he'd need to do something to actually earn a shot like this rather than just be handed it when he's kinda all, but faded away.
Re: Charlo to fight Korobov instead of Monroe
I'd love to see Korobov come with some fire in his heart like he did against Uzcategui. It'd be brilliant to see. I can't see anyone outboxing an on-point Korobov. You have to stop him.
I wish he's been more active and on more undercards. I've not seen Korobov since the Vera fight. I think it's worth it to see his last three fights and see where he's at.

Re: Charlo to fight Korobov instead of Monroe
about to turn 36 and 1 fight in the last 2 years, pretty sure hell be declined from before and he wasnt that great of a pro to start with, got kod in his big fight vs lee and beat a definitely green uzcategui
this is almost sure to end in a brutal ko loss, though on such short notice hes not bad
but i feel hes generally been overrated based on his am accomplishments and possibly for being russian, not convinced at all this would be better then monroe

Re: Charlo to fight Korobov instead of Monroe
It's a better fight than Monroe. We know Monroe's level (non-roided). Korobov is still a question mark. You just seem to have some animosity towards EE fighters. It's ridiculous. If Uzcategui was green then so was Korobov, ffs. Neither had a huge fight and both were touted prospects going into their meetup on HBO.jamamb wrote: ↑16 Dec 2018, 03:22 about to turn 36 and 1 fight in the last 2 years, pretty sure hell be declined from before and he wasnt that great of a pro to start with, got kod in his big fight vs lee and beat a definitely green uzcategui

It can end in a KO loss, but it can also have Korobov outboxing and countering Charlo with ease.
I don't know how you can say someone whose wins aged well overrated. He beat Edwards who went on to stop Jack (who practically became #1 at SMW), and he beat Uzcategui who is currently a top 10 168'er. That's a solid resume for someone that was avoided at MW. Hell, Quillin and Andrade both back out of fights against him. Hell, Quillin straight refused the biggest payday of his career.
Re: Charlo to fight Korobov instead of Monroe
the edwards win doesnt mean that much, edwards never did anything else beside jack really and lost to so many other guys
i remember you talking down skoglund when he faced smith, but guess what he beat ed too lol
having derrick edwards in korobovs career highlights as a top 2 win says a lot

Korobov beat a better version of Edwards than Skoglund. I can't believe you even brought that up. :rofljamamb wrote: ↑16 Dec 2018, 04:09 the edwards win doesnt mean that much, edwards never did anything else beside jack really and lost to so many other guys

It's like mentioning Skoglund's win over Glen Johnson.
Edwards did nothing except stop the man who became the division's #1. I give Korobov and Dirrell credit for their wins. That was the last we've seen of Edwards actually trying to win. He put Dirrell on queer-street in their fight. What's also absolutely hilarious is that Skoglund is probably Smith's second best win, and Skoglund's best win is probably Derek Edwards!

Better opponent than Monroe Jr! At least Korobov has a good win over Uzcategui and he is not a boring fighter.

plus i thought ed was some big win to have anyway lolz
korobov really never did all that much and of course got ktfo in his big fight. at this stage with age and inactivity hell be even weaker. i just am not convinced this is some notable step up on monroe. its fine for a short notice but i honestly just never really rated matt
Re: Charlo to fight Korobov instead of Monroe
You forgot to mention that he took a vicious, sustained beating from Gilberto Ramirez prior. That was a prime killer. As I said, you obviously don't watch these fighters outside of looking at BoxRec resumes. You've also not refuted my point about Edwards being one of Skoglund's best wins, but somehow Skoglund is a big deal yet Korobov isn't.jamamb wrote: ↑16 Dec 2018, 04:28lmao edwards beat jack in 2014 and then lost to skog in 2015Mexi-Box wrote: ↑16 Dec 2018, 04:19Korobov beat a better version of Edwards than Skoglund. You make it so easy when you walk straight into traps like this!
We've seen Monroe Jr. against Saunders. He did nothing except pose and make a horrible fight. Korobov is simply a better fight, period. We've never seen Korobov outboxed. Korobov is a master boxer and a better puncher than Monroe Jr. I've been scouting different forums and everyone seems to agree that this is better than Monroe Jr. You're the only one that seems to think that Monroe Jr., who doesn't come to win, is better than a huge question mark Korobov whose entire career is on the line.

Re: Charlo to fight Korobov instead of Monroe
If I was Korobov,, I would just come at 164 and let Charlo decide if he wants to fight. Additional 8 pounds in the last week is a cruel and unusual punishment.
Re: Charlo to fight Korobov instead of Monroe
How is it that Monroe is out due to drug fail but the Charlo brothers are allowed to miss/skip drug tests and that's ok? WTF is wrong with boxing? I'm not fond of the Charlo's.
Re: Charlo to fight Korobov instead of Monroe
Exactly! LMFAO! I love that! You're a terrific poster, IB!
