BBC Sports Personality of the Year
BBC Sports Personality of the Year
Apologies if there is another thread about this but Tyson Fury's Friday the 13th-like rise from the grave was in the running for sporting moment of the year. I got a vote in for this before it closed, but we don't know if the gyspy Jason Voorhees is actually in the running for SPOTY. If he is, surely we in the B&I forum could all have a little rally to vote for him?
Re: BBC Sports Personality of the Year
Well delete thread. Despite him being in the audience, he's not even nominated. Couldn't care less about the rest of them. I wonder what else is on?
Re: BBC Sports Personality of the Year
Did not even make the cut, sad but true.

According to odds checker he's 4th favourite 10/1 AJ is 80/1, pointless any way, may as well have just posted it to Harry Kane right after the World Cup

In the absence of Fury, I’ve just voted for Geraint Thomas.
But frankly I don’t give a toss who wins.

The shortlist was drawn up by bbc pundits and posh journalists.
Fury was never going to make the cut unfortunately.

Billie Jean King what a disgrace, famous for beating a geriatric but no room on any award for the legendary late William Dunlop, a man who died doing his profession and what do they do, they wheel out spackers and netballers.

Re: BBC Sports Personality of the Year
I assume he put Fury’s name forward but wasn’t championed enough by the others. Asher-Smith is a little star in the making but fact is she’s won second rate athletic gold medals so far. The Europeans and commonwealths aren’t the world champs or Olympics.maverick23 wrote: ↑16 Dec 2018, 16:31McGuigan was one of several ex sportsman on the panel as well.lillywhite14 wrote: ↑16 Dec 2018, 16:28 The shortlist was drawn up by bbc pundits and posh journalists.

James Anderson is being nominated for his wicket record. The rest sort of deserve to be nominated to be fair. Yarnold and Hamilton compete in middle class sports and are deserving anyway. Tour De France, nuff said. Harry? He’s a genius and football is sport in this country.
I’m very surprised an English womens footballer wasn’t in the line up ( the bbc obsessed with that bollocks ) or a netball player didn’t make it. I guess they can’t slip people in from sports where about 65 people take part.

Re: BBC Sports Personality of the Year
I don't believe that the BBC would ever let Tyson Fury win and honestly I am ok with that anyway.
