Re: Nick Webb starched by Sokolowski
Sokolowski is no push over. Webb needs to have a serious think about his career though, his chin has let him down twice now. On a side note does that ring look really small.
Re: Nick Webb starched by Sokolowski
Boy you can see the opening for that counter left hook from the opening round with Webb's over-reaching looping right hand. Webb was considered a prospect at one point if I'm not mistaken. Soko can find it sometimes.

Re: Nick Webb starched by Sokolowski
Presumably this wasn’t shown on TV?
Now with all the dull one sided stuff they show, why doesn’t an exciting heavyweight slugfest like that get televised ?
To be fair to Webb who was giving it a real good go, that was a dynamite left hook that caught him.
Really poor from the clueless referee there: didn’t really check him after the first knock down. Someone should tell the idiot he is there to protect the fighter not get him knocked the f*** out

Re: Nick Webb starched by Sokolowski
Webb could win a area title if he wanted to go after it, above that he gets knocked out, it's a dangerous old game.

In the heavyweight division you can't afford to be getting starched like this regularly, in terms of optimal long term health.

Sokolowski is a far better boxer than his record suggests.

Dave Allen told Nick Webb not to fight Kamil Sokolowski before brutal KO
Dave Allen was devastated to hear Nick Webb suffered another knockout loss on the back of inflicting a first defeat on the domestic heavyweight prospect earlier this year.
Allen, who stepped in at late notice to blitz Webb in four last July on PPV, was in camp with his former opponent recently. The pair were helping Dillian Whyte prepare for Dereck Chisora this weekend when the Doncaster man offered Webb some advice.
Upon learning Webb’s opponent for his second comeback fight, Allen, now using his new moniker as ‘The Most Electrifying Man in Pugilistic Entertainment’, saw dangers signs and let the 31 year-old know his concerns.
“I more or less half-begged Nick not to fight Sokolowski when we were both sparring Dillian last week. Nick is one of the nicest men I’ve met, this is a shame,” revealed Allen.
“Anyone who stops or beats Kamil every round you can safely say is going be a top heavyweight. (Dillian) Whyte and (Nathan) Gorman (are) the only two to stop him,” he added.
Continuing, Allen pointed out a lack of depth in the top division ranks on British soil.
“The Boxing Board don’t allow these Hungarians to come across anymore as fodder. (They have) really clamped down on it,” he said. “(You) either pay daft money for a South American or fight Sokolowski as there’s a shortage of British heavyweight opponents (and) journeymen.”

Re: Nick Webb starched by Sokolowski
Indeed you are right. I told Mark Bennett that before he fought him. Luckily that fight was only a 4 rounder, it seems Sokolowski is better over 6. Any novice facing him has to get him out in under 4 rounds otherwise he will beat you.
Re: Nick Webb starched by Sokolowski
There aré plenty of fight era who are decent enough but dont know how to defend the selvas when Hurtado or when them step up.

Great journalism, really adds to the story, definitely not a feeble attempt to increase the article word count.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑18 Dec 2018, 08:35 Dave Allen told Nick Webb not to fight Kamil Sokolowski before brutal KO

Re: Nick Webb starched by Sokolowski
So on hearing his sparmate is scheduled to fighter Sokolowski, Allen half-begs him not to because there's a strong chance he'll get chinned? Bet that did wonders for Webb's confidence. Why not offer some constructive advice or say nothing. It was a good match.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑18 Dec 2018, 08:35 Dave Allen told Nick Webb not to fight Kamil Sokolowski before brutal KO

Re: Nick Webb starched by Sokolowski
i can only suggest Webb has been 'less than durable' in camp.
