It’s a good undercard fight in one way. You could take it the other way and see Edwards getting drubbed again.
Quite pathetic how bad his matchmaking has been.

If it goes to cards and is remotely close Charlie is getting it

Edwards hitting the pads now. He older than Rosales but he looks like a right kid.
Just found out from Adam Smith that Rosales is the cousin of Chocolatito.. you reckon he’s made that up?

Can't completely write 'the wee pecker' off.
He's gotta have a shout of winning on the cards if he fights the perfect fight. He's at home, he's a proper 12 round fighter now and Rosales may be a little complacent.
It's not the worst fight

ian butcher and ant nelson are his best opponents since his first challenge , well see how edwards is now but he didnt really move much upwards after casimero, hes very fortunate to be on a 2nd world title shot with doing this little and after just 14 fights
rosales since the selby fight has really powered on

Rosales is the cousin of Chocolatito. Whilst Edwards appears to have improved, it's hard to gauge as he hasn't had a proper step up since the Casimero fight. It feels to me that Eddeh needed a world title fight to add to the PPV and both fighters were available, don't think Edwards is quite ready for this yet, I can see him winning the early rounds as Rosales doesn't seem to care much about being punched in the face, but Rosales will stop him down the stretch.

That's all it ever is.. He hypes there will be a world title fight on a card and it ends up being Katie Taylor... or one of his fringe contenders getting a word title fight.The_Don1 wrote: ↑21 Dec 2018, 06:25 Rosales is the cousin of Chocolatito. Exactly that, it's a similar story with Bellotti-Walsh, Bellotti needed some more building/learning fights after the Doyle defeat, but after one fight with a journeyman he's going in with a tough experienced quality opponent to be found out again. Neither fight will do anything for these lads other than to help Eddeh sell a PPV with title fights on it, terrible career management.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑21 Dec 2018, 06:30 That's all it ever is.. Kudos to Edwards I thought he deserved it, I had it a much closer 115-113 but winning all the same, he put in a controlled matured performance, got his tactics spot on, sticking and moving , never staying still countering Rosales with some sharp combinations, the left hook especially worked a treat, also showed an excellent jab, Rosales did land some nice right hands especially early on but he was never able to pin Edwards down and as the fight wore on I thought Edwards boxed better and better
I thought Rosales probably had his best round in the 12th but too little too late for me, he was never able to land the type of body shots that finished Barnes, great win for Edwards well deserved, big upest

Duke KcKenzie, and before him, Charlie Magri I think
Re: Charlie Edwards vs. Cristofer Rosales (c) - 22 December 2018
Got to say fair play to Charlie Edwards. I caught up with the fight this morning and thought he boxed really well.
I can critique Rosales credibility as a belt holder but Charlie was still not expected to win. He actually beat a champion which I like.
I can still see him moving up and fighting Yafai if the chance is there. He genuinely believes he can win that fight and considering how poor Yafai was in Monaco I wouldn't put it past him.

Saw him utterly disgrace himself at a boxing evening once. Pissed out of his head and acting a complete clown. Nicky piper, steve Robinson, John h stracey and Charlie magri were all there thoroughly embarrassed for him. Shame, he was a good little fighter that was forced into early retirement for health reasons if I remember rightly. The welsh fans totally worshipped him. I wasn't surprised he was banged up after witnessing his drinking (and I'm no prude, usually enjoy a bit of chaos)

Good win and excellent performance from Edwards, i thought he showed great awareness and ring generalship.
I especially liked the way he stuck out the jab whenever he disengaged, giving him the last word in exchanges. Such small tricks can be the difference in close rounds.
I don't think it helps him against Yafai though, as bad as he looked in his last fight I can see a fired up Yafai walking down Edwards.

It's the match to be made now , Edwards been calling him out and Yafai said in the last fight he needed a bigger fight to get up for .keirw wrote: ↑25 Dec 2018, 10:08 Good win and excellent performance from Edwards, i thought he showed great awareness and ring generalship.

Have to hold my hands up and say Edwards put in a great performance. Rosales has been in excellent form and been a true road warrior the last few years so I was expecting him to blast Edwards out of there like he did with Paddy Barnes.
