Carlos Takam Back on Sky Box Office!

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

Carlos Takam will fight on Sky Sports Box Office on Saturday, for the first time since being knocked out by Derek Chisora.

Takam takes on hard-hitting German heavyweight Senad Gashi, at The O2, London, on the Whyte vs Chisora 2 undercard.

Gashi, known as 'GachineGun', has a 17-1 record with all of his wins coming by way of knockout, 16 of them inside the first two rounds.

----------------------------

I know a few on here wanted Takam on the card.... Don't know why.. But now he is!

A shrugging emoji probably would have been more appropriate :maybe:

A Gashi KO would rid the rankings of Takam and make me happy...but alas...will never happen... :verysad:

I watched the Gashi-Schwarz fight a whole back. He caught Schwarz a few times but he's a bottom feeder and will be outclassed by Takam. Will be fun to watch though.

Takem is a fairly reliable measuring stick. I'm glad he is still around. Who else is there to gatekeep between the HW C and B levels? Only Chisora as far as I know. The other reliable standbys are getting too old and shopworn

Toney, Cunningham, Molina, Helenius, Mansour, Price, and Chagaev, and I could go on, have all faded or retired. There isn't any experienced, tough, and reliable HW's left that mean anything, who can test C level heavies wanting to step up to the B level. It's a vital measuring stick to have guys like that around, and currently I can only vouch for Takem and Chisora giving new HW's a reasonable test you can guage them by. For example, I would have a better idea about Miller if he fought Takem, than anyone else on his current resume.

Again, problem is, Takam isn't gatekeeping. I'm wondering how much of a lost art it is to be a gatekeeper, due to all the BS belts available to lower end fighters. Years ago, those fighters, as you described, took pride in being the tough test for the up and comers. Doesn't really seem to exist anymore.

Excellent test and first HW fight.
Takem might not think he is a gatekeeper, but we know better, don't we ;-)

I like how Hearn just takes the same group of fighters for every box office and just randomly shuffles the names around.

Some say he NOT a gatekeeper.

whatever he is.. He's still a durable boxer that would be a good challenge for a lot of HW's,.

Can you imagine Daniel Dubois fighting him?? He won't be like Kingpin, Takam likes to hit.
