A very knowledgeable poster who would either say a brilliant statement or the most off the wall arguments. Nothing in between.
He thought Wilt Chamberlain could beat Ali.
He was banned when he pissed off a mod

Thanks for the heads-up Tiny, I had no idea. I'm glad he isn't here because he was banned. I mean he could talk with some authority about boxers from the seventies so he's obviously not in the first flush of youth. When someone like that who's on here all the time suddenly isn't, you can't help hoping there is a harmless reason for it.

Having said that it seems harsh that a prolific, high profile, and I assume, long time contributor to the forum can be given a ban on the whim of a moderator (obviously I don't know the circumstances so apologies if this is not the case), it seems a bit draconian. Shouldn't it be three strikes and out or something?

Today we are handing out kudos for the most intelligent statements. Unfortunately you get nada :D

Seriously I hope you were kidding about that. Even if one day he has earned the right to be talked about in such terms, that time is a long way off, and it is unfair to Joshua to make such premature claims now. FFS he hasn't proved he is the best Heavyweight active in 2018/2019 yet.

Wuuupa wrote: 19 Dec 2018, 13:20 His technique is obviously not on the hemisphere of Ali, Louis or Tyson, even Povetkin was technicly superior to Aj. But he simply has Foreman kind of punching power, high speed and is tall and athletic and unlike Wilder Joshua can box and is not just a body builder with a strong punch.
Peaking Larry Holmes would vaporise this guy AJ.

Vitali would box AJs ears off.
Perhaps he would, he'd likely beat many fighters more accomplished than he is. Then again he lost to the two quality fighters to faced Joshua is already well beyond vitali.
AJ, who I think will come out as the fighter of his generation, has only beaten two past their prime fighters e.g. Klitschko and Povetkin.

Klitschko was beating Lewis, who he effectively retired and Byrd at the time of the injury stoppages.

BTW, Byrd is not a quality fighter at HW. Vitali faced everyone he could with the exception of his brother. Never knocked down and barely lost a round.

In his prime, he hands AJ (at this point) a real beating; no doubt in my mind.

You're not helping your case saying Byrd wasn't quality. He definitely wasn't great, just far superior to anyone vitali beat. His resume is trash. No way should he be in the hof.

I rest my case. Vitali was the dominant HW of from 2003 to 2012, with his brother. He deserves to be in the HOF.

Are mods sensetive?

Maybe he just ment chamberlain would have a reach advantage, or maybe if chamberlain trained boxing along with his height and reach advantage.

Obviously we dont live in the "maybe" and "what ifs", but a can a bit understand his point. The point i am trying to make is similar, i say ali and tyson are superior boxers to joshua or vitaly, technique, footwork, movemants, in these areas prime ali or prime tyson above any heavyweight ever. But the physical advantage the height reach and weight is just to much of a difference. Foreman wasnt a technicly brilliant boxer with his wide punches and robotic slow non fluid like footwork, but the reason why ali struggled so much with him was he was physicly inferior. Foreman was just to big to strong and foreman like 6'3. Now these giants are more athletic than norton or forman and on top have better footwork and equal punching power and chin if not superior chin (vitaly).

That is an important distinction. People said Luis Fernando was a troll but I say definitely not. Can't even call him an idiot as he doesn't lack for intelligence. His judgement-compass is seriously fukced though I don't know what term covers that.
