Post by jamamb »

what are your revised thoughts on how good this young man is and his place in the mw division

i have to say i thought he lost to matt korobov by 2 points and he looked pretty limited skill wise

Limited is how to describe both Charlos, and overrated. Quillin'esque.

Korobov is a horrific night out for anyone. I don't know why a man with the amateur and professional credentials he has is so damn underrated. I've always said he was the most dangerous MW for Golovkin. If you can be asked (which I can't either), I have a record on another forum where I talked about it.

There is a reason why Quillin and Andrade wanted nothing to do with this man. We almost got to see him against Golovkin until the IBF stupidly forced Wade through.

Now, I didn't think he'd beat Golovkin, but I knew he'd be the first man to make him look human (this was when Golovkin was knocking out everyone). It would've been something great.

Still, Charlo showed his limitations. Korobov was half-way retired and practically did this as a hobby. This was on short notice for him. Everything was against him, yet he came out on top. That shouldn't happen to someone that is considered elite.

Yeah, for sure. Charlo looked massive in there, though. He looked way bigger than Korobov. Also, Korobov dropped Uzcategui. Charlo all but walked through some hellacious shots. That's an amazing chin.

He did get hurt with the body work, though. Korobov should've thrown more to the body, and he probably could've gotten Charlo out of there.

Charlo was taken to school. His youth saved him more than his boxing .
I still don't rate him.

I bet GBP are licking their lips. Canelo will destroy Charlo to the body. Golovkin better scoop up Charlo as his next fight.

I mean Korobov is a master technician, but I wouldn't call him a body snatcher. It was appalling how badly broken down Charlo was in the 12th. This was against an old man without a full training camp and drained to hell. Golovkin or Canelo would stopped Korobov in the 12th.

I think Jermies handlers will think carefully about who they put him in with next. Expect it to be a nice soft puncher with an almost credible paper record.

The handling of Korobov's career is one of the worst things Ive ever seen in the sport. He is a very good fighter.

Hello, just watched fight on youtube. IMO Charlo won by close decision, but he got exposed. Surprised by Korobov overall slickness. Did not expected he will come in at this good shape. Last round saved Charlo the fight IMO. BTW Charlo looked roided AF.

Average top level fighter, very boring surprised at how poorly he did against 36 year old undersized Korbov.

it was obvious to me that he's overrated, he's no better than Sulecki, Derevyanchenko or Andrade
