Respect for Warren
Just thinking, I know a lot of people have split opinions about Warren but to think where he was a few years ago (year on year making losses with B0xntion) to securing a BT deal he has done very well!
I love boxing regardless of promoter/tv deal and thought 2018 was a good year for boxing!

Have no respect for him at all. Robs off of boxers.
He and Hearn are one and the same. Snakes

Re: Respect for Warren
He seems to have gained popularity now that he's been knocked off his perch as the UK's top promoter, we all love an underdog don't we but no more than a few years ago he was doing what Hearn was and was slated just as much on these forums - Khan PPV's, WBU reigns of terror etc.

In some ways but I think it was a bad year.kbackup408 wrote: ↑23 Dec 2018, 12:58 Just thinking, I know a lot of people have split opinions about Warren but to think where he was a few years ago (year on year making losses with B0xntion) to securing a BT deal he has done very well!

Two PPVs clashing close to Christmas is a disgrace.
Also the quality on BT this year outside of Warringtin v Selby has been very poor.
2017 BT put on good cards and it looked like there was quality control.

Don't know of any fighters who have said Hearn has ripped them off.lillywhite14 wrote: ↑23 Dec 2018, 13:01 Have no respect for him at all. Robs off of boxers.

Besides the PPV’s, Sky’s shows have been pretty bad this year too.Naandrew wrote: ↑23 Dec 2018, 13:18In some ways but I think it was a bad year.kbackup408 wrote: ↑23 Dec 2018, 12:58 Just thinking, I know a lot of people have split opinions about Warren but to think where he was a few years ago (year on year making losses with B0xntion) to securing a BT deal he has done very well!

2018 has been brilliant for boxing, but not great for fans... However the continued access to international fighters has been fantastic and hopefully that continues

I only mentioned BT because its a warren thread.
Like BT sky themselves actually put on some good cards in 2017 as part of their subs

Did he throw the pay packet at you and run away?
He comes across a total wanker! So does Tommy Gilmour!

Re: Respect for Warren
I respect some of the fights that Warren has a hand in making, but I think I prefer Eddie over the hideous kunt.
I don’t know what it is that irks me.
But I do know that I’m bored of his slating of Matchroom and Eddie. Every chance he gets with Kooogz he mentions AJ being a drug dealer.
The way he uses this info to just dismiss BJS and Fury’s actions are hilarious.
(For what it’s worth, I think Tyson should be pushed towards forgiveness in the mainstream, but we all know that ain’t happening)

It not a new thing. They doing business off fans desire and interest. Drag the interest to bigger and wider audience of celebrity. Their money made.

Nice one. I saw you fight once. I had mutual friends with Charlie Shepherd and saw him win and lose the IBO title at the Sands Centre in Carlise and you were on one of the cards, without checking I am not sure which.

They are on good terms.Twinkle Toes wrote: ↑24 Dec 2018, 05:02You should educate yourself on how it went down between Calzaghe and Warren. You'll know in future to not type such utter tripe.
Re: Respect for Warren
I fought Shepherd in Crystal Palace and then fought James Rooney in Carlisle.
I was supposed to get 900 quid for the Dixon fight, drove up to Glasgow Sunday afternoon a couple of days before Xmas.
Was given 500 quid, a bit of a scene followed, Tommy Miller the matchmaker got me an extra couple of hundred, but was still 200 short, prob lucky to get out of there in one piece, Morrison had quite a reputation 20 odd years ago and there was a few heavies about,
Drove home through the night, was working Monday morning, did the job without a wink of sleep!
