Was Black Gold in the 1979 National AAU or 1980 National AAU tourney?

I could not find evidence of him fighting in either tournament...I have his results for the 1979 National Golden Gloves, Pan-Am Trials, Pan-Am Games, World Cup and assorted other fights, and the 1980 National Golden Gloves and Olympic Trials and other fights, but cannot find anything regarding him participating in the National AAUs in either year.
In 1978 he lost to Mark Holmes in the finals of the Middle Atlantic AAU championships so he did not move on to the Nationals that year.
