Looking for some good fights in the 70s & 80s...

Post by OH_RickNMorty »

Hi all, I’m looking for some good 70s & 80s fights other than these ones:

70s) Ali V Frazier/ Frazier V Foreman / Ali V Frazier II / Ali V Foreman / Ali V Frazier III / Frazier V Foreman II.

80s) Ali V Holmes / Tyson V Holmes / Tyson V Bruno.

Looking to expand my horizons some more, and generally looking for good fights in generally any area, however I’d prefer from the 70s & 80s.

Many thanks, OH. πŸ‘πŸ»

Holmes/Norton is where I'd start. I'll be back with more.

Those are all great fights!

I remember seeing Duran v. Ray Lampkins on Wide World of Sports. It was a pretty decent fight with a Duran ending that made me a Duran fan for life. (I was young and impressionable)

You may be interested to know that he apparently has a son Roberto Duran Jr. that is fighting now. He just got a win over this past weekend. I didn't even know he had a son that was fighting until I saw the result posted.

F*cking great suggestions guys! Everything I had in mind was already said, but I'll just say I 2nd a lot of these picks.

Foreman vs Lyle and Chacon vs Limon IV are 2 of the greatest fights I've EVER seen. Those fights are Rated R baby! Violent as hell!

You know the drama of Round 10 of Bowe-Holyfield 1? Where Bowe has Holyfield all, but out on his feet but Holyfield rallies back to give him hell by the end of the round. Chacon vs Limon IV has about 12 rounds like that :OhYes:

He's only 2 fights in at the moment. His result from over the weekend was a 1st round KO win in his 2nd bout. To say he's got big shoes to fill would be an enormous understatement, but I'm a big fan of Duran Sr. so I'll be rooting for the kid.

He's 29 y/o so he's got a name and probably not much of a future.

Agree 100%, but not this 6th round KO. Green fought some up and comers (at that time), Mugabi; Donald Curry and others were better fights to watch. Green fought them all it seems.

Just pointing out bigger names who were relatively early in their careers.

It read like you said it was a better fight to watch, it wasn't.

Good for you. If I remember correctly it was a terrible flukish tko/quit stoppage. Definitely wasn't a ko.
