He was obviously overrated due to Eddie’s hyping of the lad, but should he hang them up now?

Personally, he’s got more to give. I don’t think he’s been prepared well enough, EH has neglected him since losing to Doyle. Needs to kickstart his career by starting at area level.

He's hardly been neglected mate he just fought for the British last week

I think it would be a shame.

He's had one shocking loss when he got drunk on his own power.
And then a close defeat to the vastly more experienced (and Euro champ Level) Walsh. And that was probably too soon for him - he looked caught between two stools there.

Drop back to area-level, get some wins and confidence then have another run.

If still wants to compete, which I'm sure he does, he should do so at a much lower level.
He's young enough to develop interests in other areas that could provide him a good living whilst fighting at a more appropriate level for his skills.
He seems like a nice lad but no point getting your brain rattled for years and leaving the sport with nothing.

I think he’s a trained electrician and was making a good living before he even turned pro. I’m sure he can go back to that if he does decide to retire.

I think the way he lost the Walsh fight will mean he won’t retire. He didn’t do much in the first half of the fight and was winning a few rounds towards the end of the fight. He might be thinking that if he’d upped the pressure sooner the. He could have beaten Walsh (not that I agree with that).

He’s certainly got high on his own power recently and, I may well be the only one thinking this, but I don’t I don’t particularly rate Jim McDonnell as a trainer.

I’d say switch camps, get back to his boxing and not just coming forward looking to land bombs, drop down a level and then look to rematch Doyle in 9 months time.

He said it in his hour and a half long interview with Kugan the other day.

I'm more interested in what Walsh does next. Rematch with Lowe (a fight I thought he edged, although didn't score RBR), British/Commonwealth unification with Gill or fight Kiko for the European are all good options.
