BoxRec 2018 Poster of the Year
Just give a shout out to a fellow poster who made a difference on this forum, felt fresh, someone you might have gotten more along with, had healthy debates with, or just a laugh..

Re: BoxRec 2018 Poster of the Year
Well, you are among them, first of all cause you're a good upcoming matchups and RBR poster. There was a period, when you were somewhere away, it was noticeable. Based on activity, disscussion quality and a number of cases, where I agreed with them, in the first row I should mention the guys, like jamamb, HomicideHenry, gilgamesh, KiwiRider, candyslim, dagilechia, oogiebe, BoxBuzz. Because of some things majorly built up on the bigger difference of opinions or just me not remembering too much points of those posters, in the second row I can name the likes of Syntax Error, ValMar, Onetimeonly, ironbeard, tiny_acres. But, of course, I'm forgetting somebody, so don't be upset with it.

KiwiRider, Ruthless-RKO, DrDuke, Ilya Muromets, jamamb, candyslim, ValMar, tiny_acres, gilgamesh, oogiebe, apollo creed and Stuarty - those come to mind. i often enjoy their posts and agree with them and even if i don't they're at least active and they're able to discuss even when they disagree with me or other posters. I especially value those who post in the Current Scene section because after all it's a boxing forum.

Every poster on the forum makes it what it is. No judgement. Even Kalin. ![[icon_wink.gif] ;-)](./images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif)

A special note about EO. He must be a champion in being on ignore lists of other forum members.

It's a sum of the parts.
I find other's local knowledge invaluable on fighters I haven't seen much of, before they are thrust into contention for a 2nd tier belt.
Also those who have shared new pro's amateur experience, which is something I don't watch much of.
Insider information is awesome when it is shared as well.
Well done everyone who has shared
now let's go beat up the lurkers

Re: BoxRec 2018 Poster of the Year
As I mostly only journey on the boxrec current scene line I can't speak of everyone. Needless to say the journey is usually well guided by the safe hands of gilgamesh. Great job.
Many of the regular passengers such as Mexi-Box, apollo creed, boxing_rocks, caldo2025 etc etc are always worth reading. EO, once he avoids getting embroiled in the unfortunately all too frequent unnecessary headbanging, has often unearthed useful details behind the headlines whilst Ruthless-RKO has provided great links time and time again.
However my nomination must be for BroughtonRulesRefuge. Never a dull line, and consistently brilliant commentary, whether I agree with it or not. When the words are this good it's a pleasure to read them.
Anyway, thanks to everyone and may we all keep boxing clever in 2019.

I've had problems with EO in the past but it seems like forever ago.boxing_rocks wrote: ↑31 Dec 2018, 13:35 A special note about EO. He must be a champion in being on ignore lists of other forum members.
I enjoy his fact finding though some times hrs long winded. He does give a well thought out response to most topics.
I really only have 2 posters on here that I just don't like. Most are good to excellent posters.
We all come here because we love the sport so at least we all have one thing in common.
That's more than I have in common with half my family members

Decent amount of good posters on the CS, no need to list them all, keeps things interesting on the daily. Honourable mentions to counter puncher, tiny, even with the charlo obsession - my boy Apollo creed keeps things fresh. Ruthless does a great job with the news and updates.
Hope you all have a great new year and it’s a good 2019 for you and boxing.

There are still some good posters in the CS. I'll go ahead and nominate TheBeast though as my poster of the year.

I'll second that nomination!! Without those videos from The Beast the Current Scene forum wouldnt be the same!!punchoutsb wrote: ↑31 Dec 2018, 20:10 There are still some good posters in the CS. I'll go ahead and nominate TheBeast though as my poster of the year.
Re: BoxRec 2018 Poster of the Year
Agreed. The forum is poorer without people like Kalan. He may have been as mad as a box of frogs, but you cannot deny the guy was memorable and provided entertainment, controversy, and insight.
I'm not going to list my favourite posters. Mainly in case I forget someone but I think you mostly know who you are anyway.
I will however give a special shout out to our most maligned Dutchman, best known as assfukced. The guy gets a storm of hate, sometimes getting abuse from a dozen posters at the same time, for the nonsense which is his specialty. He has been banned a few times but keeps on getting back up and ploughing forward. He's the Jake LaMotta of posters and just occasionally he'll come out with something profound. Don't ask for examples please but I know there have been one or two.
Hell you'd admire his qualities in a fighter wouldn't you?
Happy New Year everybody and in the words of the marvellous Mr. Adam Duritz ... :"Long December and there's reason to believe, maybe this year will be better than the last".
I'll drink to that !
