First you say its the first time he has fought someone his own size.

Then you say Collazo was "much bigger" and Hatton is no Welterweight.

Which one is it?
No.

On the night Hatton was 11st 4lbs

On the night Collazo was 11st 2lbs.

Collazo was much taller and 'LOOKED' much biggerl.

Weight wise - they were the same!

Hatton has fought many Lightweights and Superfeathers..

Hatton fought someone his own size - but Hatton does not have the punch or strength to be Welterweight!

Wasn't everyone saying before the fight that Hatton was really as big as DLH because DLH was small at 154 and Ricky enter the ring at 154 (last night he supposedly went in at 160 - from the mouth of Billy Graham )

Hatton needs to show a bit more guile in the ring, especially if he intends to continue at 147. His body attack doesn't seem anywhere near as impressive as it once was, and Ricky does a lot more headhunting, what happened to those blistering salvos of body shots in his earlier career? Or is it just that those attacks are not effective against someone who knows how to counter?

Before we all get on the "hatton is rubbish at 147" bandwagon...consider this.....

When Mayweather made the jump to Lightweight he had two very hard fights against Castillo probably because he did exactly what Hatton did...which was jumping straight into a title fight on his debut at that weight.

IF I remember rightly PBF looked pretty ordinary against Castillo in both fights and was unable to dominate him.

Also, PBF had 2 eliminators at 140 before he fought Judah...hence he had a chance to grow into the weight. At the moment Hatton is not a natura Weltereight which is why he struggled on Saturday.

Any fighter...and I mean any fighter would struggle as a debut at a new weight fighting for a world title...

Remember DLH v Sturm...first fight at middleweight and Oscar scrapped the decision...

Frankly I was never expecting Hatton to blow Callazo away because of the above reasons.

Hatton - after stating he wanted a rematch.

Now INSTEAD.... He wants the winner or Castillo Vs Corales...

1 a career Lightweight - the other started at 130..

IS HATTON A BULLY?.

Yes.

( But Castillo would beat him imo).

If he carries on at welter he loses the lot , his strengh will go his fitness won't carry him and his skils he has'nt bothered to develop cos he's to busy punching a body bag

100% right...

So let me get this straight - Hatton is a geninue Welter in your opinion, despite you saying "Hatton is no Welterweight" - but just not a particularly good one? Right?

If that not correct, and you think Hatton would be better off going back down - then what is the point of this thread?

Use your brain cell.

In terms of strength and power and taking shots.

Hatton is not suited to Welterweight,

In terms of weight - Hatton is a Welterweight.

BUT.............. At Welterweight he loses too much of the advantages he had at Lt Welter, He says he can make Lt Welter... THEN HE SHOULD!!

You name 6 Lt Welters he fought?.Whoopee do!

What is the point of this thread?.

:TU: Got your point, just thought there was inconsistancies thats all... You've clarified.

I still think your being a tad harsh though.... Its almost a no win situation for Hatton (well except Cotto at Light Welter).

If he fights Witter at 10 stone, there is a good chance he will be heavier on the day... so if he wins, he'll be a bully.

Even if he fights Castillo - big chance they will be around the same weight on the day, but then two fights ago he made Lightweight, so again Hatton will be a bully.

There is only Cotto who he could fight where he would be at his better fighting weight and not actually considered a bully, not giving him much options. Every other long term Light Welter will always have an angle that you can accuse Hatton of having an unfair advatange... Even Cotto, you could argue is adversly affected by the weight making process more so than Hatton - so there handing Ricky an advantage.

Yes, though I do conceed his geniune Light Welters that he has faced were either not stella opposition, or slightly past it. Although he has fought more than 6, there were others a British title level that he fought. However, what options does he have. Most of the geniune Light Welters are going to be smaller than him on same day weigh ins.

As for your initial question... A bully doesn't stand up to his equal, and fight on equal terms - Hatton has already done that... Win, lose or draw - he is NOT a Bully.

Hatton feasts on too many lightweights and for a good ereason - he NEEDS the size advantage!#

Cotto is a bully also,imo.. Too many Lightweights!

Hatton was shown up in this fight - Collazo is GOOD but nowehere near the best..

I think they( whoever they are) drops him from the p4p list.

Rematch Collazo - if he doesn't then that tells me a lot obout Hatton -HBO Should demand it!

Or Mayweather Or Margarito even Judah!.. I think he should fight Judah!

Hatton should stay at LightWelter.

Hatton neds to fight genuine Welters all the way if he stays at Welter!

To put Hatton in the p4p list is just nonsense... he has the most padded record of any 'world champion' out there. The fact is that Hatton is very much a media creation, a good fighter yes, but he has stood still for so long fighting lightweights and 40 yearolds and not developing his skills and now that he has stepped up in class slightly this is catching up with him. He struggled with Maussa... basically a journeyman with a good punch... and now he has been all but beaten by Collazo who is despite what Hattonites may say is really a mediocre welterweight with average punching power.
And lets get this straight also, Hatton is not the world welterweight champion... he fought for a paper crown made for TV... the real champion is Mayweather... who would treat Hatton much like he treated Gatti if they ever fight... which I strongly doubt now...

A bully doesnt fight back when things aren't going his way - You want definition of a bully, then look at Mike Tyson.

One thing that is fact, both Silkov and DG stated many times that Hatton would get murdered by Tzsyu - The reality as we know turned out totally different - You guys ended up with egg on ye faces.

Its no good acting the smart arse after the event i.e calling Tszyu an old man.

Read my posts, I never said Kostya would murder Hatton... I thought Kostya would win but I also said that it depended on how much he had left. I also gave Hatton credit for beating Kostya though it is a plain fact that Kostya was 'old' as fighters go and in the sort of fight they had this was the difference... Kostya was 35+ fact!. Had Ricky fought a 30 yearold Kostya things would have been different.
The simple fact is that Ricky has been exposed by Maussa and Collazo... he is a good world class fighter at 140 but not the outstanding p4p fighting machine that the likes of you would have everyone believe...

Because when Tszyu was 30 he was what? A recent Vince Phillips victim? Oooooh.

Tszyu came in to the Hatton fight having panned the shit out of Sharmba Mitchell 6 months previous. He wasn't 'old' or 'shot' before Hatton, he just had the snot beat out of him.

No complaints in that a fair portion of Hatton's earlier career were not as good as folk would have wanted, but Tszyu's not there to be rubbished.

You can't say that Kostya was in his prime still at 35 and with just 3 fights in 4 years... Hattons youth was always going to be a factor... its just silly to try and say it wasnt a factor. That said it was still a good win, which makes it all the more disapointing that Hattons career has since taken the route that it has... giving away titles, faffing about in courts, and struggling with fighters he really shouldnt be having trouble with if he is as good as he's supposed to be...

:TU:

Problem with Hatton is he has only really had 2 fights ( 3 now) KT - Magee and Collazo.

He is used to fightng too many lightweights!.

I was surprised to hear him say Collazo was heavy handed!

WTF is Margarito then!... THOR???

:D
How on earth is Mayweather the real champion at welter? His belt was won from a guy who lost it in his previous fight and was handed it back.

Baldomir is the real champion he beat the undisputed champion.
