Warrington must fight Galahad next
So IBF ‘told’ Benson this.
I say just get Galahad out the way..
IBF always enforcing their rules. Can’t fault them for that. Unifications should be over mandatories though. But I guess Frampton was already an exception.
Hearn and Frank need to get their chequebooks outs. Gonna be a pursebid. Unless Hearn offers good money, then they might avoid pursebids, like what happened with BJS-Andrade.
I think an IBF pursebid will see Warrington get a 80-20 cut in his favour.
Please... not a PPV!! Whoever gets the fight.

I don’t know that Galahad is actually promotionally signed to Matchroom. Even if he is I’d be amazed if Eddie chased this one hard to be promoted by him.
He himself made the joke once that ‘when Galahad is fighting at the Ponds Forge, there’s more people there swimming!’
This match will be promoted by Queensbury.

Re: Warrington must fight Galahad next
Yeah I think he just gets on Matchroom shows because he's mates with Kell to be honest. FW will put this on.
After 2 huge wins over Selby and Frampton I don't think anyone will begrudge Warrington a standard defence. Galahad might be a bit tricky but you'd expect Warrington to figure him out. Don't think Galahad has the power you'll need to give Warrington food for thought. We often bemoan fights between 2 Brits not getting made (Crolla/Flanagan etc) so got no problem seeing this really. Warrington will be a win over Quigg away from entirely clearing out his domestic competition all in world title fights. I'd look to do that and then move onto unification fights with LSC/Russell Jr/Valdez.
Funny seeing Galahad try and fail to get into the ring after Warrington/Frampton. Very unlikeable bloke.

I got this from Bad Left Hook dated September last year;
"The planned IBF featherweight eliminator between Kid Galahad and Toka Kahn Clary is on wobbly legs after allegedly, the only participant in the purse bid, won with an offer of $20,000. This is despite Galahad’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, allegedly telling Galahad that he intended to win the bid."
So it seems Eddie is his promoter. Although it also seems Fwank isn't adverse to putting his thrupence in

Unfortunately I'd say it's almost a certainty that this will be PPV after Warrington's last two outings.

Maybe they've not got an exclusive deal, he's not listed https://www.matchroomboxing.com/boxers/ .. but like I said, he has some sort of interest in him..KiwiRider wrote: ↑03 Jan 2019, 02:38Gidday James, jameswilson wrote: ↑02 Jan 2019, 20:15 I don’t know that Galahad is actually promotionally signed to Matchroom. Galahad-Clary took place on a Matchroom card too.
Re: Warrington must fight Galahad next
No way anyone is gonna outbid Warren if it goods to purse bids, Warrington has to be Warren's biggest cash cow (outside of Fury, of course).
Even if Hearn signed Galahad, he wouldn't bid big on him, as he has no following and is highly unlikely to be the man to derail the Warrington train.
Warrington will have far too much for Galahad who has made a career out of calling out better fighters whilst beating hardly anyone.

Re: Warrington must fight Galahad next
I think it could be an enjoyable fight. But Galahad WAY overrated. Jazza dickens was giving him problems early doors. Warrington will overwhelm him. Ingle fighters have a tendency to be front runners that look fantastic when on top.
Re: Warrington must fight Galahad next
Result could come down to who does Galahad's nutrition........
Re: Warrington must fight Galahad next
I think Warrington would beat the sh*t out of Galahad. And I'd like to see it

Yeh. Loved the way he started against Frampton.. Showed him who's boss right from the get go. Frampton DID NOT expect that.. I don't think anyone did. Probably expected it to be bit cagey at first.

I certainly didn't expect it. Warringtons the real dealRuthless-RKO wrote: ↑03 Jan 2019, 09:07Yeh. Loved the way he started against Frampton.. Showed him who's boss right from the get go. Frampton DID NOT expect that.. I don't think anyone did. Probably expected it to be bit cagey at first.

I think we all would like to see it.
The big question is; would you pay to see it?
I'm not sure I would. It would have to have a tantalising undercard, and unfortunately Fwank isn't known for them when his "A" fighter is topping the bill.
Re: Warrington must fight Galahad next
It ain’t a PPV fight, you’re 100% right
Re: Warrington must fight Galahad next
A fight like that needs to be on free tv. Not that it's a bad fight, it's just not THAT good, unless it's an undercard.Oiky wrote: ↑03 Jan 2019, 17:13It ain’t a PPV fight, you’re 100% right
Re: Warrington must fight Galahad next
Definitely not a PPV fight.
Just out of interest does anyone know what Warrington-Frampton did in terms of PPV numbers?

They’re never released over here unfortunately. Unless a promoter mentions it roughly. Even then they spice up the numbers.
I think Whyte-Chisora II did around 400k..
Re: Warrington must fight Galahad next
The way the UK PPV model is now, I'd be very surprised if this wasnt. When was the last all domestic world title fight not PPV ? Cant think of much recently.

Re: Warrington must fight Galahad next
It depends how much Warrington earned in the Frampton fight and how much he could make without PPV vs Galahad and whether he’s willing to take that pay cut. Plus whether Warrington v Galahad would actually do enough numbers on PPV.
I’m
Pulling figures out the air here.
If he made 1 million against Frampton and FW says ok I can only make money myself without PPV if you earn 400k against Galahad. Galahad gets 100k.
I’m no boxing promoter nor am I a World champion boxer but Warrington may go for that. He will probably acknowledge that he isn’t a PPV boxer against any opponent like AJ is.

Re: Warrington must fight Galahad next
Kid Galahad has urged Josh Warrington to accept a British battle after the Sheffield fighter was confirmed as mandatory challenger for the IBF champion.
Warrington successfully defended his IBF featherweight belt with a unanimous decision win over Carl Frampton in December, and the IBF has since indicated it will enforce a title defence against Galahad, who defeated Toka Kahn Clary on points in an IBF final eliminator in October.
The unbeaten Galahad stayed busy with another comfortable decision win last month as he awaits news on a fight against the Leeds-based champion.
"Some people might be happier waiting and taking a vacant-title route, but I'm in this game to leave a legacy," Galahad told Sky Sports.
"I've been very patient and always wanted to mix it with the big names and prove myself as belonging at the top table.
"Hopefully Josh gives the fans what they want now and let's have an all-British showdown, a Yorkshire derby. It would be a great build-up and then a great main event too."
Having predicted a Warrington win, Galahad was not surprised by his performance, but has warned the champion to expect a vastly-different fight when they share the ring.
"It was a convincing display. It played out the way I thought it would to be honest," said Galahad.
"If you watch my interviews when I was asked about that fight, I told everyone Warrington would win it.
"Josh is a lot better a boxer than people have previously given him credit for. That said, Frampton was a brilliant bantamweight, not sure he is the same level of fighter at featherweight.
"The timing was right for Josh in that bout, but he wouldn't enjoy the same level of success versus me.
"Warrington would definitely have a different fight against me. I'm a very different fighter to Carl. Stylistically first and foremost but also size, power at the weight class and my fitness and engine."
Galahad expects a showdown with Warrington to be staged in their home county and joked that he is even willing to fight in his local rival's hometown.
"It's a Yorkshire derby so I guess for the fans it would be great to have it in Yorkshire, but it also warrants being in a big arena so more people can enjoy the spectacle," he said.
"To be honest, it doesn't really bother me where the fight takes place, because no matter where in the world we are, that ring and squared circle is always my home.
"As for when, the sooner the better. I have faith in Eddie Hearn and Matchroom delivering that, so I'll leave that to them.
"I'd fight him in his own back garden. By the end of the contest, I'll have converted some of them Leeds fans into fans of Kid Galahad."

He's expecting Matchroom to winning the purse bids.

To be honest, Matchroom hardly ever win purse bids, but then FW is no better.
