IBO WORLD TITLE
Whats everyones views on the IBO World title
Re: IBO WORLD TITLE
so when are your tv shows again mate?
Re: IBO WORLD TITLE
It's not really sought after by the top fighters, so while some have it, it's not really an important title.

Re: IBO WORLD TITLE
Is there an IBO title fight on your show ? let me know and i'll watch
Re: IBO WORLD TITLE
It's a fcking joke belt obviously. The mistake some make is to start listing champions as the IBO cleverly made sure they handed it as an extra trinket to some noteworthy champions who already had "genuine" (generally considered legit) titles

Re: IBO WORLD TITLE
Everyone laughed when the WBO first appeared. The issue with new titles apart from diluting the word 'World Champion' is that new bodies let themselves down by letting anyone fight for world titles. The WBO were lucky I guess as they had Chris Eubank as a world champion and im going to say he possibly (amongst a few other reconised good fighters) helped promote the WBO to what it is today.
As I have stated above new bodies let themselves down purely by granting titles to has beens and laughable world title contenders who others see as terrible opposition.
Getting a new world title into the mainstream takes a lot of time but also needs genuine boxers behind it. I guess this is hard to do as why would genuine world champions give money to new Mickey Mouse organisation who has no credibility. Eubank Sr was lucky in respect that he was a crowd puller so he gave the WBO the boost they needed.

Yes, The WBO always seemed to be in a British ring back in the 90's.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑04 Jan 2019, 07:12Yeh. Also Frank W helped push the WBO too.. Then You had the long Calzaghe reign.. Re: IBO WORLD TITLE
So Billy, you have a deal in place for the IBO belts to be contested on your shows and you are on here asking what our opinions are on the validity of these belts/titles.You'll see from the replies that we have very little respect for them so how is that going to help your ticket sales ?,maybe you should have asked all these questions about managers etc before you signed the contracts to put these shows on.Do you know who Pinocchio is and what happens when he tells porkies ?
