Great fight. Duran would do his leaning on the inside keeping his body far from Chavez's vaunted body attack. I really couldn't call this one.

I dont all agree a wise boxing guy once told me Tyson was a bully, but a very good one and Frazier just dont have the strength to stand up to mike
Frazier had the strength to endure the thrilla in Manila so I would dispute that tbh. Mike was mentally weak and usually became a live quitter when things got hot. I remember him being frustrated vs guys like bonecrusher smith who would smother him, he was amazing at working his was inside but would often do little in a clinch/inside kind of situation. I would fancy Frazier to sicken him.
Yes mate Tyson could be weak but he still fought to the death. but Ali wasn’t a puncher. And had a totally different style. And frazier’s Record isn’t good against bigger men. You can have all the heart in the world but if you face a bigger lion it won’t help you. Tyson would walk through Frazier just like Foreman did. Heart didn’t mean much when you’re drilled to the canvas with every shot. I think Frazier would try to out tough Tyson but he’d just get overwhelmed by pure power and aggression . In the first round. I would put all my money on a Tyson Ko. 90% of my bank account
The problem for Frazier is that he only comes forward, no side to side. Tyson would out maneuver him to death. Way too fast and strong for Smokin' Joe.

I think tyson would of beaten both with his speed and power, neither would of seen speed like his for a big man, marciano was tough but was only 13st in weight so tyson would of had 2st on him plus speed and accuracy, frazier would of caused tyson more problems i think. Its all opinion based and as we know opinions are like a holes everyone has one lol
I have multiple holes... but I still have more opinions than holes.
Haha very true i have more opinions than holes, some times i have too much of an opinion
...that goes for everyone else.

Yeah it was, but I'm not too excited about that one. It'd be in close wrestling...sometimes two great fighters can make one big stinker.

How about:

Arguello vs. Salvador Sanchez at Featherweight?

What?

When was Frazier not fighting bigger men?

His record against bigger men is phenomenal. Literally only Ali and Foreman beat him--and one of them Joe beat!

Frazier was 1-4(3ko)-0 vs Ali and Foreman. Yeah he fought mostly as the shorter fighter, but the quality of those fighters wasn't the greatest. Jimmy Ellis weighed less; Quarry weighed less and cut more; Bonavena? Well, one can make an argument he lost the fight after being decked twice in I believe round two. If you look through his fights, he may have been shorter, but he was mostly heavier, at least during his prime which I though was late sixties through the first Ali fight. Just saying, I think Shhhh isn't way off base.

Tyson vs Vitali Klitschko
Tyson vs Frazier
Bruno vs Joshua
Cammarelle vs Teofilo Stevenson (at superheavyweight)
Teofilo Stevenson vs Felix Savon (at heavyweight, of course)

Told you there was more to come... and there might be much more.

Yep, I don't see any Fight of the Century type display of heart and guts anywhere in Tyson's career, nor do I see him capable of dredging up such a performance, or of relishing the pain and agony of tough fights like Frazier did--whenever it was asked of Mike, he dropped to the canvas like a severed ear. The peak Frazier who was on fire is a hard task for anyone, let alone a man-child who did not like being challenged like Mike Tyson. Anyone who thinks Marvis Frazier is comparable in any way to Smokin' Joe is obviously very new to boxing and doesn't understand what it is they're watching. The above exchange, from the two forecasting Frazier's quick demise, belongs in the comments section of Youtube, not on Boxrec. I'll give you good odds that these two are the classic record skimmers. They look at weights and rounds, KO ratios, and only actually watch the fights where the subject gets knocked out. This is all they require to form an unshakeable opinion of a fighter, and of his other performances they remain ignorant. Probably they have the complete Tyson DVD set though, and have watched it ad nauseum.

I would have liked to have seen Froch-Golovkin when it was mooted. I’d have liked to have seen the Haye-Fury fight actually happen as well: I kept my tickets for that for a long time but i’ve chucked them out now.

Hatton-Cotto at 140 would have been good too.

To be honest I don’t spend much time thinking about fantasy fights.

You are wrong on the posters. I watched Frazier during his prime. I saw Tyson during his (brief tho it was). Frazier wouldn't have been able to handle Mike. Frazier moved forward only. No side to side. Tyson in his prime was a master of foot work/angles/power/speed. Frazier would have been overwhelmed. Every fight I mentioned, I saw first hand. Because you disagree you insult and belittle. That is no argument. The comps are necessary to come formulate a conclusion. Thank you.

Nonsense. Frazier was actually an excellent boxer. Ali had way better movement than Tyson ever did; his footwork in their first fight was great. People just think of Frazier as a duck and left hook fighter but his style made him extremely difficult to hit and he would slightly adjust his head positioning depending on his opponent

Minus the insults to the other posters, I agree with this completely. It's easy to say " mike was a master of this and that blah blah"......but only when he was allowed to be. Anyone who had the stones to stand up to him met a MUCH different fighter.
