Whyte says it's Povetkin if not AJ
In a recent radio interview, Whyte said that if he can't fight AJ next, it'll be Povetkin. Who wins?

Not sure who wins but that’s a good fight.

Whyte has balls and I mean big balls. He is mandatory by the wbo and the #1 contender by the wbc.
He can sit and wait for a title shot but he's calling out a top 5 contender.
Huge balls

How can you not like a guy that weighs 250 pounds and 230 pounds is balls?

I think Whyte would be mad tbh.

well, i will admit that if he really will fight Povetkin, except of his fight vs AJ he was only once a slight underdog vs Parker, he was supposed to win the rest of the fights and he did. I think that Whyte is overrated but if he defeats Povetkin i wouldn't say it again.tiny_acres wrote: ↑03 Jan 2019, 18:19Where's Caldo?????dagilechia wrote: ↑03 Jan 2019, 18:10 i wonder if same people who want to see Whyte vs AJ and say that he deserve it would say the same about Povetkin if he defeats Whyte![]()

Isn't Povitkin recovering from surgery on both elbows or shoulders?
I wouldn't expect him to take on Whyte without a tester fight first

Pov will get him credit amoungst fans, but casuals espeicaly from the USA will say he is old and little and coming off a loss and whyte is ducking. for that reason id rather see him fight ortiz, who i actuly think is a better match up for him. but it will get him some momentium for a potential wilder fight.

Dillian Whyte beats Alexander Povetkin by late KO.
The Russian will enjoy a good start against the Brit, but will fade as he struggles to maintain a frantic pace. At some point or another Whyte will inevitably land his left hook flush, that will inevitably cause Povetkin’s downfall and subsequently the ref’s intervention to stop the bout.

It's a hook battle... who's more dynamic and compact?
Re: Whyte says it's Povetkin if not AJ
Seriously how long have I been telling you guys???. This man is a warrior and a raving nutcase. You gotta love Dillian Whyte. He knows he's got flaws but he isn't going to let that put him off the big challenges .oogiebe wrote: ↑03 Jan 2019, 18:25LMAO! I favour him to outlast Povetkin but the early rounds will be a minefield. Povetkin could take him out before he has properly got going, he (Sasha) has the power, the experience and the guile.
Are you watching Jarrell? Whyte is what a real fighting man looks like.
Re: Whyte says it's Povetkin if not AJ
I can only speak for myself but I'd say "No". Why is that?dagilechia wrote: ↑03 Jan 2019, 18:10 i wonder if same people who want to see Whyte vs AJ and say that he deserve it would say the same about Povetkin if he defeats Whyte
The fight between Joshua and Whyte was a long time ago in terms of where they are now. Whyte was extremely inexperienced and it was no secret that he was nursing a shoulder injury going into that fight.
Both are better fighters now but Whyte has improved a lot more. He had only a handful of amateur bouts. Joshua didn't have a lot in terms of numbers but he fought at a high level. As an Olympic champion Joshua was much further along when he fought Whyte as pros. That's why I say Whyte has improved much more, he had a lot further to go.
Whyte, despite his injury and his inexperience, wobbled AJ and gave him arguably his second toughest fight up until now. He continues to take on tough challenges and prevail. It's easy to sneer looking back, but before the Lucas Browne fight it looked 50/50. Browne was an undefeated former WBA champion having knocked out Ruslan Chagaev in his own backyard, Helenius was a very experienced top twentyish pro once considered heir apparent to Wladimir Klitchko, and Chisora never lost to anyone who wasn't at least of fringe-contender status.
Despite all this there isn't a huge appetite for Joshua v Whyte II in the UK even if you would have to be a churlish b'stard to deny that Whyte has earned his shot.
Contrast that with Povetkin: Sasha acquitted himself very well, he surprised AJ and he hurt him. Having said that the result was conclusive and emphatic. It was very recent and Povetkin isn't getting any better. There is rightly no interest in a rematch between AJ and Sasha.
