Who does Whyte beat?
Who does Whyte beat?
Whyte critiqued the top guys in the HW division. Here's what he said:
Alexandar Povetkin: "He's a good fighter, but also he's a coward as well, because he agreed to fight me at ringside after the David Price fight. "Then he said no, I'm not going to fight, I will sit around and wait until I get the chance to fight Anthony Joshua."
Jarrell Miller: "Miller is a big fat mess. I don't understand how he can be supposedly a world level athlete and just come in the shape he does. "He's a mess. How can he be over 300lbs?"
Tyson Fury: "I definitely would knock Tyson Fury out. I can knock Tyson Fury out. There's no doubts in my mind when it comes to knocking Tyson Fury out, none at all."
Wilder: "He’s got power, but a good boxer, a decent fighter, can see his punches coming ten miles away. He swings so wide, and he’s got no boxing skills, no boxing IQ whatsoever.”
Anthony Joshua: "Last time I sat back and waited, I was trying to box, and trying to wait for him to get tired. "This time I'll take the fight to him and I know I've just got to hit him once. I proved that already on two separate occasions, and this time I'm in better shape, physically I'm stronger. More boxing IQ, better speed, everything."

Re: Who does Whyte beat?
• Whyte beats Povetkin and Miller, though the American is by far the easier opponent to beat.
• Dillian is durable enough to potentially beat Wilder. That could be a really close fight, since the Brit can punch and is better than nearly everyone on Deontay’s resume.
• Whyte gets comprehensively out-boxed by Tyson Fury (as the old saying goes: “styles makes or breaks fights”).
• Dillian loses to AJ, but Joshua has to overcome a few hair-raising moments before the ref raises his arm to celebrate his victory.

Re: Who does Whyte beat?
He could beat any of them. Joshua is obviously the biggest long shot, not loving his chances against wilder. He could outwork fury, but Tyson just proved me wrong in a big way that it wasn't just a hesitant wlad. 50/50 with rubbleroid and I'd favor him strongly over Miller.

Re: Who does Whyte beat?
Me might beat Miller, not beating the others, Fury would box his head off, AJ stops him again, Wilder lights him up and I think POV stops him too.

Yep, I'm with you on that Roy.Nightmare Roy wrote: ↑04 Jan 2019, 23:06 Me might beat Miller, not beating the others, Fury would box his head off, AJ stops him again, Wilder lights him up and I think POV stops him too.
Maybe on a bad night Povitkin might get caught out if Whyte can survive 6 or so rounds.
Re: Who does Whyte beat?
He can handle only Miller. Maybe now Povetkin can be handled too, but if he has enough of him left, he'll win Whyte.
Re: Who does Whyte beat?
2015 Povetkin destroys Whyte but I'd slightly favour Dillian to come through some hairy moments to stop 2019 Povetkin.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑04 Jan 2019, 15:36 • Whyte beats Povetkin and Miller, though the American is by far the easier opponent to beat.

I've always said I think Miller outworks and outlasts Whyte. I'm losing patience with Miller lately but that's more about who he chooses to fight rather than whether I think he can fight. He can't match Whyte in the cojones department that's for sure. Whether that has an outcome on the result is questionable, it's probably more likely to affect whether the match ever gets made.
I agree entirely with you about Wilder. I suspect Deontay does too
I also find myself in total agreement with your comments regarding both Tyson and Joshua. Tyson is too mobile. Joshua is too complete.

Re: Who does Whyte beat?
I think he goes 1-4, but he stands a decent chance against Wilder. Miller is the only one I’d make him favourite against.oogiebe wrote: ↑04 Jan 2019, 15:02 Whyte critiqued the top guys in the HW division. Here's what he said:

He’s a little in denial about Joshua. Joshua will spank him in a rematch and get rid of him earlier.
Fury? Dillian won’t land hardly anything on him so can’t see him anything other than wide Fury points win.
Wilder? Dillian can stop him. Problem is, Dillian isn’t hard to hit, Wilder hits hard. I’d back Wilder
If Miller can take a shot that would be a fun fight.
Povetkin? He might be a bit too coy for Whyte. He carrries enough power to make Whyte think too, again, a good fight.

Re: Who does Whyte beat?
Whyte is an easy fight for Wilder. He gets hit with something big ten out of ten times.
Re: Who does Whyte beat?
He can punch too and he can box a lot better than Wilder. If you forced me to put my money down I'd probably go for Wilder but it's by no means a gimme. It's never going to happen anyway because no matter what Hearn offers him it would appear the baddest man on the planet don't want no smoke with Mr Whyte.
Re: Who does Whyte beat?
I think Wilder would treat Whyte like he did Stiverne (in first fight).candyslim wrote: ↑05 Jan 2019, 09:46 He can punch too and he can box a lot better than Wilder. Re: Who does Whyte beat?
We can believe whatever we choose Oogie, safe in the knowledge we are unlikely ever to be proven to be wrong.
Re: Who does Whyte beat?
Whyte is arrogant. AJ is going to knock him out again. I think Miller out works him tbh. Even Wilder is slightly more fundamentally sound than Whyte.

New year, same hate filled bullshit. I was hoping your resolution was to stop making an ass of yourself posting g about wilder. That's a shame.candyslim wrote: ↑05 Jan 2019, 09:46 He can punch too and he can box a lot better than Wilder. Re: Who does Whyte beat?
Wilder knocks Whyte out easy
Re: Who does Whyte beat?
Wilder doesn't want to fight him, that should be obvious even to you. Can't speak the truth around here coz that's hate, right.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑05 Jan 2019, 16:37New year, same hate filled bullshit. Re: Who does Whyte beat?
Wilder has potentially two big fights in front of him, and neither are with Whyte. Whether he wants to or not, it just doesn't make sense for him right now.candyslim wrote: ↑05 Jan 2019, 17:32Wilder doesn't want to fight him, that should be obvious even to you.
