Yeah can't see it, Canelo got $33m for his recent demolition job alone.

You got to remember, GGG fought earlier in the year and he fought Canelo. Canelo only fought GGG in Sept and probably isn't finish collecting his payments from the Fielding fight.

Doesn't mean he got it all at once. The fight was just 3 weeks ago.

GGG has endorsement deals with Nike's Jordan Brand, Hublot, Tecate and Chivas Regal. It's the income from different sources not only the PPV money. :TU:

I think GGG is doing quite well for a 'poorly promoted' foreign fighter. :TU: :OhYes:

The drop in earnings after Canelo would be huge I’m guessing.

Joshua is the golden goose. It’s why no heavyweight says more than three sentences before mentioning him!

It was reported with profits of the PPV Golovkin could earn $30 million plus other incomes. (GGG vs Canelo II)

None of these past known mw's like Martinez, JCCJr or even Sturm made the money GGG has earned. People could call it whatever they want but I'm calling this a proper good management and promotion from GGG's team. :TU:

Golovkin only made $1m agains Vanes and no doubt Canelo made at least $10m more than GGG in their fight in September after PPV revenue.. I know GGG has his endorsements, but so does Canelo. Don’t know how much each is worth, but pretty sure even without the Fielding money, Canelo could still have made more than GGG.

Of course he would, he’s his promoter. I don’t think Loeffler took a promoters cut from GGG’s purse as the fight was co-promoted by GGG Promotions, so owned by Golovkin himself. Loeffler was on GGG’s payroll if anything. So he would have still got something. Not the usual promoters %..

Probably yes but we all know that Canelo is a bigger name. It's not that so important compared with the fact that GGG is getting lots of M's for a fighter that he's not latino , canadian or british. That means he and his team are doing something right. :TU:

GGG has been financially successful in his career no doubt. He was being paid just over $1m for his US fights that were not PPV, earned $2m for Lemieux, $5m for Brook, $2.5m for Jacobs.. then came the big bucks in his 2 Canelo fights. He was probably doing well financially before the Canelo fights, but it was those that pushed him to super financial security. Every boxers dream.

What’s the usual promoters cut? 10%? He could take more.

Then you pay you’re manager if you have one, pay tax..

Definitely was a smaller amount than if Loeffler was the main promoter. GGG is a smart dude by taking FMJ's blueprint. :TU:

The standard breakdown as far as money is concerned is a 10% fee off the top for the distributor, with 45% each for the cable system and the promoter. So when you see a price tag on a fight, you know that the promoter will get about 45% of that.

And 33,3% max. for the manager.

:TU: yup

As you said he was making good M's even the pre Canelo fights.

He could pull out a 'Maidana retirement' and be very comfortable.

Maidana made around $9 combined in his Mayweather fights. Good enough to retire. GGG made maybe 5x that amount against Canelo. Definately good amount to retire with.
