Would Hatton be in this situation with allegedly
allegedly makes the best matches and thinks through the consequences with all his fighters - Ricky is in a difficult situation now whether to stay at 147 or do what almost everyone thinks is best and return to 140 - FW wouldnt have put Ricky in this dilemma and certainly wouldnt have chosen Calazzo for Rickys first fight at Welter - Calazzo is looking for an immediate rematch which I think would be a disaster for Ricky - I was sorry to see Ricky leave FW, I think it was a bad move

Its the best move he has ever made.wildwaylon wrote:allegedly allegedly makes the best matches and thinks through the consequences with all his fighters - Ricky is in a difficult situation now whether to stay at 147 or do what almost everyone thinks is best and return to 140 - FW wouldnt have put Ricky in this dilemma and certainly wouldnt have chosen Calazzo for Rickys first fight at Welter - Calazzo is looking for an immediate rematch which I think would be a disaster for Ricky - I was sorry to see Ricky leave FW, I think it was a bad move
Hatton has now won 3 major belts in 2 weight catagories (dont forget Hatton made Warren write Tyszu into his contract, otherwise it would never have happened!).
Hatton is now earning mega money, not in a million years would he ever come close to earning what he is now under Warren.
Hatton now has big recognition in the States. He was voted Ring Magazines fighter of the year.
None of the above would have happened under Warren.
Hatton wants the big time fights in Vegas. He wants to go down in history as one of the greats or go out on his shield trying. Warren would have just fcuked with his plans. Thats not to say he was not good for his early career, he brought him along very nicely indeed, got him huge recognition and made him a lot of coin for (lets be honest) little risk!

Exactly. Mayweather would never happen under Warren. That may have been better for Ricky in the long run, but the money he is earning is ALOT more than he was getting with Warren.
Bigger venues, bigger PPV audiences= Bigger budgets for promotors=bigger paydays for fighters.
Plus the sport is alot more popular in the states than over here.
Hatton outgrew these shores, but his matchmaking is still questionable.
A little of Warren left in him judging by Calzaghes poor matchmaking with Warren.

I dont understand the topic quesion to be honest.
Pre-Tszyu - Hatton was continually slated in regards the level of his opponnents - Now he's getting it in the neck for a poor showing against strong opposition - Whats different?
I recall even Frank saying he would have looked to match Hatton with Maussa after Tszyu, so FA didn't do much wrong there - Hattons big American splash was a nightmare from the get go - Remember all the opponents being mentioned?, it was bordering on a farce.
Despite all the bluster otherwise, it appears that Calzaghe is going to slip back into fighting semi-decent names (although SN seem to making a meal of finding one..see above) and this after his most impressive win. All the talk of going to America appears to be just that, and I figure the same would have applied to Hatton also (if he had stayed with SN)

How could you be so sure?nickd wrote:If he had stayed with Warren then Hatton would never have the chance of fighting Mayweather simple as that. Mayweather has said he wont travel to Manchester and Warren would have kept Hatton fighting at the MEN.
You can say because he wouldn't want to lose his cashcow but without actually Warren admitting that then you wouldn't know for sure.
Warren could of still made loads from him if he lost to Mayweather anyway.
Warren has taken the risk before.
Wouldn't watching it for free with millions of viewers and a piece of the advertising revenue be more worth it than PPV though?Bigger venues, bigger PPV audiences= Bigger budgets for promotors=bigger paydays for fighters.

Only a few hundred thousand watching compared to millions is shite really.
Well about bigger venues, the Boston one sure didn't sell out with the size of it.
Callazo only got about 400,000 is what it would be inpounds and yet he was the champ, hardly a big enough payday when the challenger got probably a couple of million.
If the sports so popular there then why do their PPV figures only go up to a few hundred thousand compared to the population of America?
Mayweather has said he wouldnt travel to Manchester. Warren has absolutely no clout in the US and wouldnt have been keen to let Hatton fight over there on other promotions - remember Warren wasn't even taking a managers fee from Hattons purses so would make fcuk all from Hatton fighting on other promoters cards in the US. If Hatton had stayed with Warren it would have been MEN all the way no doubt about that.Max Molyneux wrote:How could you be so sure?nickd wrote:If he had stayed with Warren then Hatton would never have the chance of fighting Mayweather simple as that. Don't mean to be patronising but it's "COULD HAVE" or "COULD'VE". People saying "COULD OF" is a very common mistake but makes no sense at all if you think about it, and is only used because "COULD'VE" sounds like "COULD OF". Sorry to sound like a dick but that particular error does my nut in more than any other.Max Molyneux wrote:He took Naz to America so he could of done it with Hatton if he wanted to. I know, sorry Max, I just have an awful habit of not being able to prevent myself from correcting that one whenever I see it. Call it obsessive compulsive or whatever!Max Molyneux wrote:You know what I mean.johnswan1 wrote:Don't mean to be patronising but it's "COULD HAVE" or "COULD'VE".
