It's been around the usual boxing sites as more of "I would love to fight David Price (David Allen)." or "David Allen mentioned as a possible..."ElJefe wrote: ↑06 Jan 2019, 15:43 Has this come from a proper source or just Boxing Kingdom's tweet? Price definitely mentioned fighting Allen in a recent IFL interview so it looks like it's on the cards. I don't think he'll have any problem dealing with him.
Don't understand the notion that Price has no chance of winning on points? Allen is a punch bag who throws about 5 punches a round when he's over matched. He's not out boxing anybody. I could probably count the amount of rounds I've watched him win on 2 hands. He was down on the cards against Nick Webb ffs. The same Nick Webb that was dealt with as (or arguably more) convincingly by Kamil Sokolowski. In fact Allen and Sokolowski would probably be quite competitive. Price was fairly poor against Sokolowski but had no issues outpointing him over 6 rounds. I see the same again here unless Price stops him.

More of what I look like! Thanks! LMAO!
Re: David Price vs. Dave Allen - TBA
lenroy thomas is every bit as fragile as price and he still beat allen, i mean its price so who knows, but i still think hes better then allen and he has won a 10 round decision before
Re: David Price vs. Dave Allen - TBA
No doubt you are correct. I think what the forum is alluding to is that IF Allen were to get his shvt together (training/management, etc) he'd be far more formidable.
Re: David Price vs. Dave Allen - TBA
maybe but i just dont see much talent in him. he takes a good shot and im not sure what else. hes basically been an english title level fighter with much greater profile then that level usually gets
Re: David Price vs. Dave Allen - TBA
Well, to be fair, I've seen him mostly on highlights and that means I've really seen his best moments. I do know that his seriousness (I.E. Work ethic and commitment) is in question. That said, I'll take your word for it, but I know that any fighter can improve with a little discipline and he's only 26. Give me a good fight to get to know him better, please.
Re: David Price vs. Dave Allen - TBA
watch him vs lenroy thomas, watch his last fight which was some grueling battle with a random argentinian, etc. vs better opponents like whyte and yoka youll just see him do the plodding punch bag routine
i dont see much raw talent to mold beyond a chin. he is english title level imo.

Re: David Price vs. Dave Allen - TBA
Couldn't find first fight with Lenroy Thomas, only 'highlights' and from the comments, the highlights didn't show the actual lolights of Allen's performance. Then I watched Allen vs Dallas, and I can see your point, as well as other posters and articles talking about a lack of commitment. Hands down; plodder; gets himself outworked easily...these are the times I regret not getting UK local level fights more frequently. PS: The YOKA fight says it all. Absorbing punches and nothing in return.
Re: David Price vs. Dave Allen - TBA
His fitness let him down against Thomas. He was by far the less superior boxer, but should have won it through youth and workrate.jamamb wrote: ↑06 Jan 2019, 16:13 watch him vs lenroy thomas, watch his last fight which was some grueling battle with a random argentinian, etc. vs better opponents like whyte and yoka youll just see him do the plodding punch bag routine

He has a good chin, but it won't be good enough if Price gets him with a flush ovehand right. Say what you will about Price, but that dude has major power.

Good fight for Price. Allen has certain name value, despite not having beat anyone and losing to Thomas.
If you can’t beat Lenroy Thomas, you can’t beat any version of David Price.
Worth noting Price absolutely destroys people at domestic level. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a bit of confidence return for this one and him take Allen out within 2/3 rounds.

Re: David Price vs. Dave Allen - TBA
If anyone is still in the ring with Price come the 6th round they could win as he gasses so badly .
I can’t name another boxer that looks so bad after a few rounds as far as stamina goes

Re: David Price vs. Dave Allen - TBA
could possibly be right though i think everyone who beat him because he gassed is substantially better then allen. he did win a 10 round decision before.
Re: David Price vs. Dave Allen - TBA
Allen has a puncher's chance against Price, but if he sits back and hopes he can land one big pay off shot Price should do too much damage and force a stoppage.
Re: David Price vs. Dave Allen - TBA
i think you are bang on the money. allen would have to jump on him from the off and get inside those long arms and look to land the 'bingo'
