wrestling/boxing the most popular sport in Oman? i have never heard of any wrestler/boxer from Oman.

probably cause they are useless at boxing/fighting. Can't get to any decent level, so you never hear of them.

the middle east is really big on football for example, yet they are terrible at football.

Here in the UK in many, many boxing clubs- pakistanis/south asians are the majority, yet it's extremely rare for a South Asian to get to any decent level in boxing.

this map is unbelievably wrong... basketball more popular than football in Spain, Italy, Argentina and France wrestling/boxing the most popular sport in Oman? i have never heard of any wrestler/boxer from Oman. are martial arts really that popular in Slovenia?? i doubt that it's more popular there than Football, Ski Jumping or even Basketball and maybe Handball.

They are hero’s over there with careers that would remain unknown here in the states with the competition for fan attention that exists. Boxing is a cottage industry here in America.

Tradition is a decisive factor. It is very simple, Ukraina (Russia, Poland, Mexico, etc....) has a very strong boxing tradition.
India (Portugal, Denmark, Honduras, etc.......) has not this kind of tradition. The end of story...............
