Isaac Dogboe vs Emanuel Navarrete

Post by handsofstone »

Unbeaten WBO Super Bantamweight champ Dogboe defends his title against big punching Mexican Navarrete on the Lomachenko/Pedraza World Lightweight unification card this weekend on NoxBation, cant wait to see Dogboe again, coming off blowing away the usually durable Otake in a round, what a performance that was, clinical as you like, great guy as well and essential viewing these days

Navarrete has fought all his career in Mexico, lost a 4 rounder earlier in his career but 22 of his 25 wins have come via KO, no recognisable names though and this looks a massive step up in class, obviously hard to tell how good he actually is, he could be another Jaime Munguia and surprise Dogboe or he could be many of the other unbeaten, unknown and untested banger who gets thrown in too deep

Whatever Navarrete is its gonna take a very good fighter to beat Dogboe at the minute, should be fun this one though

I agree. This fight should be all action and could be over very early. I wouldn't consider it a big upset at all if Navarrete wins.

Dogboe is very entertaining & Navarrete will come to fight, I'm sure. If Dogboe can see him off it will top off an active & successful 2018 for him.

Dogboe followed by Lomachenko, looking forward to it :TU:

So Navarrete pulls off the upset to earn a well deserved decision over Dogboe, I agreed with the 116-112 cards in Navarrete's favour, he was a clear winner in the end, he's an absolute monster for a Super Bantam, punches hard, great workrate, can switch hit effectively, he just bullied Dogboe all night and walked him down constantly, he hurt Dogboe several times and had him backing up all night

Dogboe showed a lot of heart to stick with it for 12 rounds but it was a long night for him, any success he did have never seemed to bother Navarrete in the slightest, it did look like his experience might take over around about the 9th when Navarrete looked as if he was tiring but then he got his second wind and closed the show strongly, he's gonna be a force at SBW, bit of an upset that

Well impressed with Navarrete, looked huge at the weight too. Could definitely be a read handful at Super Bantamweight. 19/1 pre-fight to win on points :oo

Dogboe is one tough character to have stuck that fight out for the full distance, was taking some serious power shots.

He was long odds all through the fight. I backed him with about 8 different inplay bets. Was looking at another 350ish if he got the stoppage. Was pretty gutted because it looked very likely by r11.

Rounds 8-12 were nothing less than a beatdown.

That was horrible to watch, never has the term bullied in the ring looked more obvious. He took a horrible beating from a much bigger guy, I was worried for his health

seriously what happened to Stevenson the other day, they should have pulled him out —- that was bad bad news.

I had the KO at 25/1 i backed in round 8. Nav took rounds 7 & 8 off and tge bookies went crazy with odds, they must have thought he was gassed and Dogboe would come on as they initially expected.

Pretty pissed it wasn't stopped tbh. Officials in the US don't protect fighters enough. No way that goes the distance in UK. Cost me a few hundred.

Sounds like you’re more worried about your bet than Dogboe?

I thankfully backed the decision after the first 2 rounds which was nice, just wanted to see how Navarrete started the fight. Bit surprised it wasn't stopped though.

Navarrete come of age in this fight and performed superbly.

Hopefully Dogboe can recoup and come back ok, but he really should have been pulled out by the 10th. He simply couldn't compete with Navarrete. The corner work was terrible letting him slip over on the spilt water, they made hard fight even harder for poor Isaac.

Looking forward to seeing more of Navarrete.

Dogboe took a bad brutal beatdown.

Looking forward to watching more of Navarette, he reminded me like Margarito in there.
