if Danny tops where does this leave the July 7th rematch with Skelton?

bet ITV are not too impressed either. Harrison has really cocked it all up.
I hope the bill can be saved. I was looking forward to the Magee Takaloo fight.

Erm, yes.

That was one of the few reasons I was going to Cardiff...

Williams v Skelton rematch will still happen, he'll bowl over some stiff in Belfast and still be ready for July.

Exactly. Hardly inspiring stuff is it though?

I feel sorry for the poor fukcers who have paid for flights, accomodation and time off work to watch Danny warm up against a slab of meat ahead of his big match in Cardiff.

Harrison has let a lot of people down.

This is precisely why I NEVER book tickets for boxing matches a long way from home. How many times did people get burnt last year, which was one of the worst years for fight cancellations in living memory.

I know Harrison has had lot of difficulties with Joan Guzman.... But, when is his mandatory due. They have got think about at least having an interim title.

Why not St Clair vs Foster Jnr for the interim title.

Check out the BBC site for some rather scathing quotes from Frank Warrén - He is not a happy chappy :)

I am one of those poor fuckers and I'm pissed off. Everyone is going on about poor Scott and how he must have alcohol and mental problems and how its so sad. BOLLOCKS. He's been in and out of trouble for years and none of it is to do with alcohol or mental illness. Its to do with him being an aggressive little wanker who always feels the need to prove himself. In none of the reports of Harrison's misbehaviour has it mentioned him being drunk or high or talking in tongues. It always says that he was being violent.
This is the last straw with him. He can expect more people to have a dig in the street at him after this bull shit. I have no sympathy at all. And where the f*ck is Peter Harrison during all of this? He is meant to be his father and trainer. He'll he's suppossed to be his mentor. Why hasn't he given him a good kick up the arse.
And by the way. The picture in which Harrison looks like shit doesn't mean sweet FA. He's always been a little ugly bastard. I defy anyone to find a picture of him in or out of the ring where he doesn't look as rough as a badgers.

He looks like Alex Higgins with a skinhead.
:D :D :D

When I heard Scott was arrested at the weekend, I was tempted to go to the bookies and put a bet on that the fight would not go ahead. Bloody wish I had done now! :x

I have never seen Harrison look so gaunt as in that photo. Jesus, making weight must be taking it's toll on him by now. It's all catching up with him, I think!

Whatever the case, if he's suffering from mental problems, I hope he come out ok. Never nice to someone going through those things.

It does seem his career is going down the pan at this time. Wonder what Scott and his dad will make of FW's comments?

Yeah, but there's a difference between doing coke now and then and having an actual problem; in the same way that there is a difference between an alcoholic and someone who likes a drink up now and then.

Don't see the fuss with the pic myself.... He was supposed to be fighting soon - just looks like he normally does this close to fight time.

Was that a freudian slip from Maloney when he said.

"I am not about to jump a SINKING ship".

I know its a common phrase, but still a shocking thing to say about a Featherweight champion of the world. If this was Audley Harrison then it would be a bit more accurate, as his career is sinking - but clearly that choice of words indicates a longer issue than any of us anticipated.

Joan Guzman undoubtedly had major problems making Featherweight, but he insinuated straight after the first cancellation of the bout - that Harrison had some deep problems and his tooth ache was just a fairy story- mmmm, wandering how right was he?

Could this be the opponent that Williams is hoping for?

Cheers!! The full story is up now btw...

World boxing champion Scott Harrison has checked into The Priory Clinic for depression and alcohol problems.
The announcement comes after the 28-year-old featherweight from Scotland cancelled Saturday's defence of his WBO title in Belfast.

Harrison was arrested on Sunday after an incident outside a Loch Lomond nightclub. He faces trial in Glasgow in September on a separate matter.

Manager Frank Maloney said Harrison had been admitted to the London clinic.

He said: "Scott Harrison was admitted to The Priory this morning for depression and alcohol problems.

"There are obviously some issues and problems and I spent most of last night with Scott, his father and lawyer.

"At first Scott wouldn't own up to the problem but eventually he admitted it. That explains why he has pulled out.

"We're bitterly disappointed but as his manager and a human being I made the decision."

sometimes you feel celebs do that for the press and not there own well being. I hope the kid is okay but he is a fcuking idiot.

In terms of saving the show its a shame they can't work out some kind of a deal to bring Froch Maggee back to Belfast.

Don't hold back Nick tell us what you realy think.

I kind of see where you are comming from but being in a totaly unstable environment isn't good for people ether. Furthermore boxers (possibly more than C list celebs do have to work damn hard so depression is more understadible from that point of view.
