True, but also Vitali doesn't have near Wlad's "body of work."danconnollyeire wrote: ↑11 Jan 2019, 11:14Vitali took 4 years out and came back at nearly 40 and smashed Samuel Peter but no one cares cos Peter was fat and rubbishoogiebe wrote: ↑11 Jan 2019, 11:06It would be in the context of coming back at 42 and beating a top 5 heavyweight. You're kinda proving my point though, why would anyone care about him coming back and beating Whyte with his current body of workoogiebe wrote: ↑11 Jan 2019, 11:18True, but also Vitali doesn't have near Wlad's "body of work."danconnollyeire wrote: ↑11 Jan 2019, 11:14Vitali took 4 years out and came back at nearly 40 and smashed Samuel Peter but no one cares cos Peter was fat and rubbish

Personally? I don't care. Wlad is yesteryear's story.danconnollyeire wrote: ↑11 Jan 2019, 11:33You're kinda proving my point though, why would anyone care about him coming back and beating Whyte with his current body of workoogiebe wrote: ↑11 Jan 2019, 11:18True, but also Vitali doesn't have near Wlad's "body of work."danconnollyeire wrote: ↑11 Jan 2019, 11:14

Re: Wladimir Klitschko vs Dillian Whyte
why would Wladimir come back for Whyte?
a bit of a novelty fight. might even turn out to be a good fight, given the timing.
anyway, I want to see Whyte in with a current champion, not a past one, as I feel he's earned it.

Re: Wladimir Klitschko vs Dillian Whyte
Yeah. I don't really like him but he should get a title fight given his recent resume.
Re: Wladimir Klitschko vs Dillian Whyte
I know it seems silly for Wlad to come back. I'm reading more that (and who knows if it's true) that Eddie Hearn is trying to find a name to fulfill his April 13 Wembley card. So Wlad vs Whyte was 'whispered' about. I really don't care if Wlad comes back or not. I don't see him beating any of the top three at this point in his life, so why bother.
Re: Wladimir Klitschko vs Dillian Whyte
I want to see this. I'm not sure Whyte batters Wlad unless he's completely shot to shit! The Wlad that rattled Pulev would completely annihilate Whyte and the version that fought AJ would beat him without too much trouble as well.... I like Whyte, he's as game as fukk and good value but he's vastly overrated because of the Sky PPV crap.... A watered down version of Wlad should still beat him...
Re: Wladimir Klitschko vs Dillian Whyte
You really think so? Without putting too much thought into it, I have to give the nod to Whyte. He's been busy; in tough fights; has improved; has good size; pretty fair left hook. Not an opponent for a ring rusted 42 y/o, imho.Stuarty wrote: ↑11 Jan 2019, 12:03 I want to see this. I'm not sure Whyte batters Wlad unless he's completely shot to poo! Re: Wladimir Klitschko vs Dillian Whyte
I like Whyte mate but Wlad would've almost certainly kept himself in top shape even when not active. Wlad still has the tools to beat a guy like Whyte convincingly IMO. Don't get me wrong though, I'd be rooting for Dillian....oogiebe wrote: ↑11 Jan 2019, 12:05You really think so? Without putting too much thought into it, I have to give the nod to Whyte. Re: Wladimir Klitschko vs Dillian Whyte
I hear ya, but staying in shape and being in the ring are two totally different things. I could be wrong (not the first, not the last), but Dillian is too good to lose to an old fighter out of the ring for so long. I hope Whyte gets his shot at AJ. He earned that one, no doubt. This Wlad story is Hearn's, IMHO. Let him stay retired.Stuarty wrote: ↑11 Jan 2019, 12:12I like Whyte mate but Wlad would've almost certainly kept himself in top shape even when not active. Re: Wladimir Klitschko vs Dillian Whyte
Wlad is all wrong for Whyte even at this stage. Those long right hands down the middle of whytes defence. Whyte is clumsy and despite wlad being past it he is more refined and expect him to KO Whyte in about 6 rounds in fact I will bet on it if this fight happens

I'm guessing it would act an eliminate of sorts for another shot at Joshua.

Re: Wladimir Klitschko vs Dillian Whyte
Whyte is so ridiculously overrated on here
Re: Wladimir Klitschko vs Dillian Whyte
Maybe you're right, but he comes to fight and at least he's fought some decent opposition. I can't fault him when he's doing more than most other top 10 HW's.
Re: Wladimir Klitschko vs Dillian Whyte
wlad was much better then whyte, who knows now, doubt it happens

Re: Wladimir Klitschko vs Dillian Whyte
Sorry mate but it definitely wouldn't be in the top 5. Whyte is average and is only getting recognition because of the lack of depth in the division.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑11 Jan 2019, 16:10He'd be top 5.danconnollyeire wrote: ↑11 Jan 2019, 11:04I'm not being funny, but when people talk about Wlad's career defining fights, I'd be surprised if Whyte is top 10Onetimeonly wrote: ↑11 Jan 2019, 09:19 I'd be interested. Re: Wladimir Klitschko vs Dillian Whyte
i dont think whyte as a win on his resume would do much to change his historical standing, whyte may be top 5 on it but wlad beat a lot of guys around whytes level imo
Re: Wladimir Klitschko vs Dillian Whyte
I think he's rated just right.
Everyone knows he's good but not great, right ?
British-level boxing ability
English-level speed and movement
Alphabet champ power
ATG for the "dog" in him - a real, aggressive 'win at all costs' type.
Overall - World Class gatekeeper. Gives anyone a competitive fight, but the best beat him with a beat to spare. .
I think he's liked for his attitude, more than over-rated. From press conference to final bell - he's easy to root for and good to watch.
Re: Wladimir Klitschko vs Dillian Whyte
It'd be interesting. Though Wlad clearly isn't what he used to be this would still be a 50/50 fight in my mind if Wlad is still capable of being the same guy we saw in the AJ fight.
