Help me identify two fighters

During Hatton era there was a fighter that golden boy were championing as a future great. I think he was an amateur starlet and maybe Mexican. Was touted as a future opponent for cotto and Hatton. He lost his first step up fight and it was written off as a classic case of taking his talent for granted, then he met a tough experienced gate keeper type who brutalised him and basically ended his career. The kind of win that made you think 'nice one son' when you heard the result. Who was the youngster and the veteran? It's on the tip of my tongue. I've looked thru a few records of fighters in that weight in their era to know avail. Clue: I think he had a Romeo romaeo type undercut

Wasn't Bojado in one of the EA fight games? I seem to remember doing a double take when I saw him in the roster.
