Re: Jose Uzcategui vs. Caleb Plant - January 13, 2019
The real heroes are those of us who watched the whole fight. snoozer for the most part Uzcategui sleepwalked the whole way
Re: Jose Uzcategui vs. Caleb Plant - January 13, 2019
After the sh*t plants been through, and the character and drive he's got, it's great to see him win this fight and realise his dream!

Re: Jose Uzcategui vs. Caleb Plant - January 13, 2019
Uzcategui won the last 4 rounds for sure. Possibly the last 6, but it wasn't enough. Started too late, and by the time he got going he'd already lost the fight on the cards.
Caleb Plant should be the new Champion in just a moment.

I have seen alot of Plant as he came up, this was the most complete, best performance he has put together. Excellent defense, fast hands, moving in and out of danger. Congrats champ.

Wow! That’s some unheralded talent that we were just treated to. Jose ain’t no trip to Cleveland neither. Caleb dominated that fight and showed some balance with both hands that is not common. This kid can go and I’ve never heard much about him. Great fight and a great talent that now bolsters a division that could use some pizazz. Impressive Caleb!!! Very impressive. Congrats.

I never did like Caleb but I'm a fan after tonight
Re: Jose Uzcategui vs. Caleb Plant - January 13, 2019

Sunday 13, January 2019
Microsoft Theater, Los Angeles, California, USA
promoter TGB Promotions - Tom Brown
matchmaker Tom Brown

Jose Uzcategui 28 2 0
vs
Caleb Plant 17 0 0
International Boxing Federation World Super Middleweight Title

Plant won by UD
Uzcategui down in round 2 & 4

Caleb has talent but not sure he has the stamina to back it up for 12 (he will most likely go the distance in most of his high profile fights). One weak champ replacing another weak champ.

He didn't dominate, the commentators were cheerleading. I missed rounds 1-4 (including 2 knockdowns) but of the 8 rounds i watched i had it 6-2 uzcategui.
It was a fun fight but not great standard for world level imo. Uzcategui didn't leave it all in the ring, his work rate was poor and footwork stinks. Plant looked like he was just trying to see out the win but didn't bang home some nice counters. Canelo or Smith would smoke them.both.

FYI, don’t comment on a fight after missing a third of it which consisted of 2 knockdowns and 4 dominant rounds. Don’t waste my time, Dork. Comment on fights after watching the whole fight. You aren’t qualified and sound stupid as hell.RKY wrote: ↑13 Jan 2019, 23:40caldo2025 wrote: ↑13 Jan 2019, 23:12 Wow! That’s some unheralded talent that we were just treated to. No, they have been advertising to the football audience and probably got a higher rating after the NFL game (much higher than a Saturday night boxing only audience).

Plant fought brilliance for 9 rounds and smart for 3 rounds (professional holding). He deserved more from the crowd for his performance, but LA boxing fans like Mexican slug fest, not smart boxing. He would have been appreciated more in Brooklyn or Middle America.

So what is your point Caldo - Caleb dominated the entire fight or Caleb dominated 1/3rd of it?caldo2025 wrote: ↑13 Jan 2019, 23:44FYI, don’t comment on a fight after missing a third of it which consisted of 2 knockdowns and 4 dominant rounds. Re: Jose Uzcategui vs. Caleb Plant - January 13, 2019
Caleb won the first 6 rounds clear as day, and had scored a knockdown in the 2nd and 4th. He already had the fight won on points before Uzcategui ever won his first round.RKY wrote: ↑14 Jan 2019, 00:07So what is your point Caldo - Caleb dominated the entire fight or Caleb dominated 1/3rd of it?caldo2025 wrote: ↑13 Jan 2019, 23:44FYI, don’t comment on a fight after missing a third of it which consisted of 2 knockdowns and 4 dominant rounds. I thought Uzcategui won the last 4 rounds, and possibly the last 6, but it wasn't enough because the first 6 rounds were beyond doubt in Plant's favor.
Re: Jose Uzcategui vs. Caleb Plant - January 13, 2019
Uzcategui clearly won 6-12 & i thought 5 was close. You might be right that points wise Plant had it won by 6 (barring KDs for JC) but winning the first half & ultimately 114-112 hardly seems 'dominanting the fight'.gilgamesh wrote: ↑14 Jan 2019, 00:09Caleb won the first 6 rounds clear as day, and had scored a knockdown in the 2nd and 4th. Re: Jose Uzcategui vs. Caleb Plant - January 13, 2019
Exactly. The point is that if you missed the first 4 rounds of this fight, you missed the fight. Don’t comment on it. I still think that Plant did enough to win most of the later rounds but don’t comment on the last 8 rounds of a fight like the first 4 didn’t happen. There were 2 knockdowns and Plant put on a show where t Jose was chasing 6 points after the first 4. Stevie Wonder could have scored those rounds.gilgamesh wrote: ↑14 Jan 2019, 00:09Caleb won the first 6 rounds clear as day, and had scored a knockdown in the 2nd and 4th. Watch the fight again because your scorecard would be ridiculous. There’s no way Jose won last 6 rounds. No shot. What fight did you guys watch. He ‘clearly’ won rounds 6-12 and 5 was close? Seriously?RKY wrote: ↑14 Jan 2019, 00:20Uzcategui clearly won 6-12 & i thought 5 was close. Re: Jose Uzcategui vs. Caleb Plant - January 13, 2019
Uzcategui didn't "Clearly win" 6-12. He didn't win Round 6 at all, and you could argue he didn't win Round 7 and 8 either. The only rounds he won clearly were 9 thru 12. The scorecards at the end were an accurate reflection of the fight I watched.RKY wrote: ↑14 Jan 2019, 00:20Uzcategui clearly won 6-12 & i thought 5 was close.
