I think it'll be close. These are two really good fighters and Jacobs has a significant size and reach advantage. Unless I'm missing something, it should be a great fight. I can't make a call yet.
Jacobs hasn't looked great in his last couple of fights. It might just be he's fighting to the level of his opponents. Or he could of just put in the best performance of his career vs GGG and we will never see that form again.
Either way I look forward to this fight

I wasn't going to mention that- in case I incurred the wrath of upset fanboys. But yes, I have noticed Jacobs on a slide since GGG, even worse in his last outing. Typical GB matchmaking, take a decent name on the slide, like GGG, match them against Avlaroid, and give no chance of a fair decision.

Canelo Alvarez opens a -275 favorite over Daniel Jacobs.

Good value there. Any time you can get Canelo at under -300 then you should grab it.

You have to figure that Canelo will rocket to around -400 by fight time.

A judge already has his score card ready, 11 rounds in favor of Alvarez before the fight was even signed. We'll see if Jacobs can get that pity round.

I expect more from you than those same, lame, trite jokes that casuals still trot out months after their expiration date.

But in case you're not paying attention, Canelo Alvarez has been molded into a pretty damn impressive fighting machine.

I don't see Daniel Jacobs being a special enough fighter to bring him down.

Judges probably won't be necessary. If Pirog could stop him, Canelo can certainly turn the same trick.

If Derevyenchenko had a little more professional seasoning, Jacobs would have already been a victim of his second career KO defeat.

But it will have to wait until Cuatro de Mayo.

I just read there is a rehydration clause. 170 max, every pound over is a 700k penalty.

That’s the IBF rule anyway that you can’t be over 10lbs next day weigh in.

Excellent fight, same scenario. Jacobs must stop Gingerhead to win.

Good for Jacobs getting the big payday.

That rule was cancelled i think after Jacobs refused fight night weigh in before GGG fight

Yeh they said they weren’t gonna have it for really big fights.

I remember they had it for Jacobs-Derev.. both came in less than 170

I also hope that it appears to be competitive before the judges let me know that, in fact, Canelo had been dominating all along.

It wasn't cancelled. They decided to not use it in unification fights.

A good matchup of the two guys, who have arguably beat Golovkin. :D

Canelo, of course, is favored with the reason. He's edging over Jacobs in class. Actually Canelo's power can be enough to stop Jacobs at some point.

And it will be great, if Andrade defends meanwhile against either Saunders or Golovkin, so that the winner of it would have faced Canelo-Jacobs winner (Canelo) for the undisputed championship.

I wonder if they'll really play up Jacobs as cancer survivor. It could really be something good for cancer research if they partnered on some promotional spots with the NCA on fund raising. Bringing awareness. Just saying. I'll be rooting for Miracle Man, but Canelo gets my bet.

A+ fight. Should be a close fight, which Canelo will win, but everyone will say he lost. Who cares it's a great fight.

Abel Sanchez said quite well, when you fight Canelo in Vegas, you spot him three rounds. I'm kind of disappointed at he judges selected, especially Byrd. How they chose her is beyond me especially considering her previous scoring in Alvarez's fights. A joke really.
