Yeah it depends on how much leverage you have. Whyte is a PPV fighter on sky sports himself now, so I'd imagine he has a lot more power in negotiations than some guy that tends to fight low down on undercards.

If promotors had collusion (and they probably do to some extent), they could 'ice out" free-agents like Whyte. It cuts both ways.

It's simply like this. It's a love triangle....

Eddie loves AJ because he brings the bread home...
But Eddie also has Whyte on the side....
Eddie wont give Whyte full commitment because AJ pays his bills...
Whyte is fed up of being Eddie's side piece, and has been flirting with Hayon to make Eddie jelly...

Eddie now has a dilemma. He can't show too much commitment to Whyte as AJ may get jelly. But AJ also may leave him at some point in the future as he is now richer than Eddie.. So Eddie needs to keep his bit on the side just incase, and he does love a big dark bruiser.

It's weird

It’s possibel. As I said, AJ is minted now. Sky would be ruthless and burn Eddie if it was a straight choice between him & AJ.

Sky should just open their own boxing studio, hire a good matchmaker, create a Sky Boxing chanel, and build talented fighters, the gems will be found.

They could offer all of the next Olympians instant Sky exposure from their own studio. Not a huge place, just a place to build talent with all of the promoter crap of ticket selling, venue booking etc. No faffing about with ‘dates’. It’s their studio, they’ll put a fight on when they like. Don’t have to be a full card as the viewers tune in to see a fight causally.

He signed a short term deal. I assume he was banking on the Wilder fight happening, or secondary AJ. It seems neither are options. I think Eddie would rather throw Dillian in with Wilder to test the waters.

He's been trying to get Dill in the ring with Wilder for quite some time. Remember back when Wilder was calling out AJ. Wilder said something about the king not fighting the pauper when Eddie wanted Wilder to come to England to fight Whyte before any AJ fight would be made. OH how long we've come.

Dont think whyte is or ever will be an elite heavyweight. Probably the best outwith the top 3 but theres a clear gap.

He doesnt have any belts so just has to tread water until he gets a chance

He’s still made millions against Chisora/Parker etc....not bad for treading water.

Only issue is now he thinks he’s worth millions and I’m a PPV fighter.

Apparently Hearn has offered Whyte £4m to fight AJ in April and he has turned it down.

So that would be a yes, then. He should take the 4 million. He's not getting that to fight anyone else.

I think Whytes argument seems to be that he's become a PPV fighter in his own right now and a second fight between him and Joshua would generate a lot of PPV buys and thus he deserves a larger cut than he's being offered.

I mean I know that Parker had a belt, but how how much did he make in fighting Joshua? He definitely doesn't bring as much to the table as Whyte does in terms of people coming to see him/people buying the PPV.
