WBA Orders: Charr/Oquendo & Bryan/Miller

Post by oogiebe »

According ESPN a round robin has been ordered for the WBA Regular Belt: Charr must face Oquendo within 60 days. Also, the winner of that fight must next face the winner of a bout the WBA ordered between its interim titlist, Trevor Bryan, and Jarrell "Big Baby" Miller within no more than 120 days after the conclusion of Charr-Oquendo

Oquendo hasn't fought in 4 1/2 years. Charr in nearly 1 1/2 years. Looks to me it's to get the WBA Regular belt in the hands of BIg Baby Miller. I'm not so sure that Miller will go for this, as he's still being mentioned as an AJ opponent. What a mess. :witzend:

Oquendo won't fight for that. Because of the any reason possible. The fight will be cancelled. But then it will be scheduled again. After everything, that occurred, this seems to be the only possible unending way.

It's hard for me to fathom that the WBA would order anything with regards to Oquendo, even given Charr's testing issues. I'm surprised they didn't go directly to Miller/Bryan for the belt. How many times has this fight been cancelled and scheduled?

charr, oquendo, bryan, and miller have always been the guys involved in the wba title mess, i dont think this looks like a strategy to give miller the belt

Nothing is eternal. Except this fight being re-scheduled and Oquendo being contender without fighting.

They are trying to fix their own mess with regards to Charr/Oquendo. A fight that no one (should) gives a shvt about. They should just go to Bryan/Miller for the regular belt and be done with it.

Whatever. As long as it gets Oquendo's name out of the conversation once and for all I hope something FINALLY happens with the f*cking guy.

It'll be the last of Charr too when he gets to the finals and loses to Miller.

The never ending Charr-Oquendo saga.

It's a prime example why boxing seems so foolish to so many people.

It is a joke, isn't it. Where is this phantom fight going to take place? The local high school gymnasium? Meaning, who would pay to watch it? Again, go straight to Bryan vs Miller.

I would rather see Miller clear out the other WBA guys before getting his shot at Joshua. Joshua vs Whyte II is what Matchroom should push for. Miller needs to build his profile a little more.

100%. But they can skip Charr/Oquendo and just have Miller/Bryan, and save us a lot of time. IMHO,

Aren’t the WBA legally obliged to give Oquendo this shot due to a law suit they lost? I don’t think, particularly the heavyweight , multi belt issue is something the wba want anymore, But this idiot has been the main problem. I hope he gets ktfo for wasting so many guys chances and time :bag:

The guy hasn't fought in like 4.5 years. Is he even capable of fighting anymore? LMAO! It's just so ridiculous. :KO:

Well that's just it isn't it? I can't believe I'm defending these parasites but they are legally obliged to give Oquendo a title shot. Hopefully Oquendo comes to his senses and waives his right, but after all the fuss he kicked up and the time this has dragged on, maybe he's too proud and foolish to admit (even to himself) he should just walk away.

Maybe the best thing would be if they matched him with Miller and that might bring him to his senses. Or it might not :brick:

It used to be Chagaev, Ortiz, Browne..

Now it’s Miller, Bryan, Charr.

Oquendo is just waiting for a payday.

I can't imagine the Oquendo is anywhere close to being in fighting shape.

He is in fighting shape. He’s not just sat at home doing nothing.

I remember seeing him at his presser vs. Briggs.

at the end he stands next to Briggs. Yes, this was 2016, but even at that point he hadn’t fought in a while.’

If it's a good payday it might even cover his medical bills.

He can't be in fighting shape not having had a real bout in 4 1/2 years. In-shape and fighting shape are sharply different, my friend.
