Comeback??

Post by martinperks1981 »

Hi, I'm new to the forum and am looking for some advice.
I used to be an Amateur Boxer had won 2 Birmingham Titles, 2 Midland Counties Titles and the ABA 51KG Title in 1998 at the Villa stadium. My record stands at 16 - 5 however i have not boxed now since 1999 and am thinking about coming back to the Ring, i'm now 25! what would be best, to come back as an amateur or get in top shape and look at going Pro?? Any comments would be helpful. :box:

25 is still a good age for amateur. If you think theres a good chance at winning another big tournament ide say you should give it a try. Its allways better to sign pro fresh off a big amateur achievement. Might get you more $ and better treatment.

I would definitely recommend a comeback if you can dedicate yourself to the sport. I recently made a comeback in amateur boxing myself after basically seven years off I came back to win 5 fights in a row and win a tournament. I had the support of my wife and many others and had many people praying for me so it made it possible.

I'd recommend you'd get some amateur bouts to get off the ring rust and see where you stand. If everything goes well then you know you're ready to turn pro.
