They introduced me to LeDoux. We started talking boxing and the subject of Larry Holmes came up. I told him Larry was one of my all time favorite boxers. Scott went on and kept babbling about how he was kicking Larry's ass until getting thumbed. I smirked saying I don't remember that when I saw the fight.
Scott started to walk off mumbling incoherently and only making a few 4 letter words clearly and loudly enough to understand.
At this point half of the locker room is laughing. Scott turned around grabbed a folding chair and flung it straight at me. I moved to the side or I'd of been hit. I picked up the chair screamed f-you and flung it back.
We were separated by the wrestlers.

Larry Holmes and Mike Weaver are 2 of the nicest guys to talk to. Both will sit down and talk forever with pretty much anyone. I think Mike could have a conversation with anyone and show genuine interest at all times.
Larry Holmes is very funny and sarcastic. But he laughs at his own jokes more than you will.
Bennie Briscoe could tell you so many interesting stories about the political side of boxing in a very crooked age of the sport. He seemed bitter but was very friendly and never avoided a direct answer.

George Foreman was very phoney sounding like every thing he said was scripted. He did not make much eye contact and kept that smile on his face only when someone said hi. Other wise it looked like he couldn't care to discuss anything but his books or grill. He wasn't really rude just not genuine in my opinion.
I was called white man at least 5 times in a conversation with James Toney. I found that weird. He was funny but off putting with racial slurs. Not my type of guy

Thanks. That was very interesting. I've heard that about Foreman.

My brother met Larry Holmes at a fight and asked him if he knew his cousin. Larry said he hadn't and wasn't overly friendly. Perhaps he didn't like our cousin. That, of course, wasn't my brothers fault, but people will associate you with other family members.

I can see James Toney acting like that.

what about Jimmy Young vrs Chuck Wepner ?
Wepner may have possibly been able to get Jimmy Young confused with his broken rhythm fighting style
along with the "Wepner Whopper",
and thus Jimmy Young would have become "Discombobabalatted".

Maybe Larry Holmes re-acted to you that way because you perhaps reminded him someone in his childhood.
and was George Foreman suppose to gush when you met him ?LOL do you know how many people try and come up to him and start a conversation over the course of a day? probably hundreds and hundreds.
and I don't know for sure, but I suspect James Toney may have been calling you "White Man" because
he had forgotten your name already into the conversation.

Toney could have called tiny acres "man," he didn't have to put "white" in front of it. :OhYes:

We gotta remember famous people are still people. Maybe Larry wasn't in a good mood when he met my brother. But LeDoux does sound like a jerk. Not much of an excuse there.

so how was Scott LeDoux demenor before you mentioned "Larry Holmes" ?
sounds like the sound of it "triggered" him off.
BTW isn't chair throwing a big part of Pro-wrestling ?
maybe he just want to give you some added entertainment.

On the subject of Jimmy Young and calling people names. I was at the Young-Jeff Simms as I mentioned.

I went to shake Jimmy's hand after the fight to congratulate him. Everyone did the soul shake in those days. I shook his hand as he was stepping out of the ring and Jimmy was cool but his geriatric trainer yelled at me, "Get out of the way Honky!"

True story.
 I guess his trainer and James Toney would get along well
