Indeed. Atrocious. Especially when you are a major drainer that enters the ring at least 1 weight class bigger than your opponent. Munguia won't last much longer at this weight and I suspected will get dominated when he fights men his own size.

Diddy, tbf you were way off. Rewatch that fight. Like a shutout is a piss take, but a draw is way worse

Good fight, but typical GBP scorecards you have to send someone on the canvass multiple times to win a round

I had it 117-111 for Munguia. He dominated it but took too many nasty shots, especially during the inside-fighting. Hats off to Inoue who brought a fight nevertheless

Scorecards were horrible though.
I agree. I had Inoue winning one round clearly. He was pressing action but taking 5~8 shots to deliver one the whole fight from start to finish. I can’t stand Oscar but this fight was clearly awarded to the right guy. I’d hate to be Inoue’s head this morning.

Munguia won but I was surprised he couldnt KO Inoue. Part of Jaime's problem could be trainer Robert Alcazar. Alcazar is a longtime friend of De La Hoya and used to be his trainer. Oscar wisely fired Alcazar after he gave Oscar instructions to get on his bicycle for the last 3 rounds vs Trinidad. Oscar did that and it cost him the decision. Really surprised GBP would stick a future star like Munguia with a mediocre trainer like Alcazar.

Inoue shelled himself and showed a pretty good chin

I think we're going to really see how "great" Munguia is when he eventually goes up in weight and fights guys his own size, that can take his punches, then give them back + some more.

Credit to him for taking advantage of his clear size difference in most of his fights. But he's by no means "elite", and would get taken apart by most top 10 middleweights.
