I find this interesting. Hearn isn't Miller's promoter but speculates like he's going to wait around and see what Joshua is going to do.

Mark it down: Miller is fighting Trevor Bryan next. You'll hear it in the next day or two. WBA 4 man tournament to clear up their belt issues. Miller vs. Bryan for interim. Charr will be reinstated as champion and will be ordered to face Oquendo and the winners have to meet.

Except Hearn is Miller's promoter and has been for a few fights now

Hearn has done a deal with Miller's actual promotional rights holders Dmitry Salita and Greg Cohen to have Miller on cards he has promoted lately but he does not have long term right with him.

That's what's been reported today. Exactly.

Hearn came in with a huge offer for Miller/Joshua in writing. The money isn't yet where the Miller team wants to be but things could get interesting. The Miller team will push for their ordered fight with Trevor Bryan to go to an immediate purse bid to be able to gauge the value of that fight and a potential Charr fight against going straight to Joshua.

Not an AJ fan, but I don't see Miller having much of a chance. Miller has absolutely no idea what it's like to be in the ring with a fighter at this level.

Joshua vs Whyte II needs to get done. I'm a fan of Miller but this fight shouldn't be happening next. I can't stress that enough.

It doesn't look to me that Miller is likely to utilize any waiting time to test himself against fighters of real quality, so as to get him better prepared when he eventually faces Joshua.

If he's just going to kick his heels beating up has-beens like Adamek or people of Bogdan Dinu's level, or even Duhaupas's, then he might just as well fight Joshua next if he gets the chance.

Whyte has earned his title shot two times over, but the sad fact is there is very little appetite for the fight among UK fight fans. The casuals especially regard it as going over old ground - Joshua has already beaten him, why do they need to see it again?.

I know that both fighters have matured and improved a lot since their first meeting, probably Whyte especially since he was so raw back then, but even with that in mind, I would far rather see Joshua fight Wilder, even Fury or Miller. I'd love to see Whyte fight Wilder, that could be explosive.

We're definitely being fattened up (no pun intended, Jarrell) for a Joshua V Miller bout.

Even though Joshua is the King of the division, he isn't currently the focal point.

The problem for Team Joshua is that the two men he should be fighting this year are busy fighting each other and the world is focusing on them.

He should fight Whyte by rights, but if he doesn't want to do that, he might as well fight The Nutty Professor stunt double, Jarrell Miller.

I’d rather see him fight Miller. He’s beaten Whyte; even though Dillian has improved, so has AJ. I only see one outcome.

January 29th
ESPN: "Anthony Joshua's promoter makes offer to Jarrell Miller for June fight at MSG"
[/Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has made an offer to heavyweight contender Jarrell "Big Baby" Miller to challenge unified world titleholder Anthony Joshua in June, Miller co-promoter Greg Cohen told ESPN on Monday.

Cohen said the offer is for Brooklyn, New York's Miller to face Joshua on June 1 or June 8 at Madison Square Garden in New York in a fight that would stream on DAZN in the United States. It would mark the U.S. debut for Joshua, who is a megastar in his home country of the United Kingdom.

Sounds like the sides are close to finalizing this deal. Sorry for Whyte, but this is more interesting fight.

You know what I can see happening?

I reckon that Dillian Whyte will either stay with Matchroom and be forced to face the likes of Usyk, Povetkin or Pulev. Or alternatively, he signs a deal with he PBC to face the likes of Ortiz, Breazeale and Kownacki, before Joshua, Wilder or Fury are threatened by the various sports’ governing bodies to either face ‘The Body Snatcher’ or be stripped of their belts.

Maybe. Anything is possible. Whyte vs Usyk I imagine would only be possible after Usyk fights a lesser opponent.

Miller may pass up fight with Joshua, according to his promotional company.

“We are focusing our efforts on the WBA mandated World title fight versus Trevor Bryan,” Cohen told Boxing Scene in regards to a four man tournament featuring Bryan, Fres Oquendo, and current WBA “super” heavyweight champion Manuel Charr, with the winner walking away with the title. “The purse bid is scheduled for February 13th and we plan on winning the bid.”

If Big Baby actually passes up this opportunity to get the WBA regular title, it would be a pretty big surprise to me. Unless he is thinking of deferring the inevitable loss to AJ. :maybe:

Miller knows he's on borrowed time. He also knows the three in this tourney are winnable fights and getting a trinket gives him a bargaining chip before Joshua sends him tumbling back down the rankings.

Passing up title shots is a dangerous game. You may not get another chance. The WBA also-rans belt will always be there. It's hardly the Holy Grail is it?
