For example my post which caused this segue way was actually pointing out how someone had misunderstood David Brent.

The basic idea behind Brent is that he is a bafoon who says and does ridiculous and inappropriate things because he is desperate to be liked but is fundamentally a good human being. I don’t believe that Froch is, he is deeply unpleasant.

Maybe but Froch should be judged as a fighter not a person. Some things which may lead people to think he can be a bit unpleasant are also things which made him the fighter he was.

Ward was offered the fight on the UK on more than 1 occasion but wouldn't take it. Not saying Froch would win but get Ward out of the US and it would have been an interesting night, particularly in Nottingham.

The hype around that fight, including the genuine dislike towards each other was an integral part of making it a successful promotion. Both fighters backed it up in the ring and hardly went overboard in the pre fight antics.

Carl lost my respect in the build up to GG first fight,Groves said he would beat froch,now to any normal person this is just someone saying what they believe to be true but with froch? I am surprised at Froch as he does not strike me as a stupid man.

He has a real grudge and hate in his heart which seems to stem from being disrespected by GG who as someone said, did not lick his arse before the first fight and was a young "upstart".

It's a fcking fight, not an invitation to the prom. It is all mind games and part of the battle. Fights are not only in the ring, they are also in the build up and so many great fighters mastered that, Ali being a great example.

GG said things and acted in a way which was part of his battle plan, and it nearly worked. How can Froch not understand it was all part of that?!
