Whyte rejects third offer to fight Joshua
Whyte rejects third offer to fight Joshua
Current WBC Silver heavyweight champion Dillian Whyte has now rejected his third offer for a potential rematch with boxing heavyweight Anthony Joshua.
It has been reported that an initial bid of near £3 million was made before it was then followed up by an increased offer of over £4m.
According to World Boxing News, promoter Eddie Hearn has now raised the offer even more, with stakes rising to upwards of £5m of which has now reportedly been rejected.
Looks more and more like AJ/Miller will be the fight.

He was a big fish in a small pond.
The south Pacific is far from a hot bed of boxing action.
He brought a belt to sell to Joshua for good money. He brought zero to the table.
Whyte at least has proven to be a money maker.

I'll give you that. Looks like it's Miller anyway.tiny_acres wrote: ↑30 Jan 2019, 13:43He was a big fish in a small pond.

I think Joshua fighting Miller in NYC just shows their hypocrisy. We owe it to our British fans to fight at home bullshitoogiebe wrote: ↑30 Jan 2019, 13:46I'll give you that. Looks like it's Miller anyway.tiny_acres wrote: ↑30 Jan 2019, 13:43He was a big fish in a small pond.

Miller supposedly is balking at the offer he received as well. This is getting ridiculous.

I don't think Miller was happy with the offer being discussed with him either.oogiebe wrote: ↑30 Jan 2019, 13:23 Current WBC Silver heavyweight champion Dillian Whyte has now rejected his third offer for a potential rematch with boxing heavyweight Anthony Joshua.

It's kind of amusing to watch though, as it means you have Hearn who's used to always getting his own way, flailing all over the place trying to find someone to fight Joshua for the money on offer.marvelous marv wrote: ↑30 Jan 2019, 13:56 Miller supposedly is balking at the offer he received as well. Ortiz would probably accept a minimum offer, but he for some reason is never in the discussion.

Amazing AJ is having difficulty finding a fight. Too many low-ball offers seems to be backfiring.Nondescript wrote: ↑30 Jan 2019, 13:57I don't think Miller was happy with the offer being discussed with him either.oogiebe wrote: ↑30 Jan 2019, 13:23 Current WBC Silver heavyweight champion Dillian Whyte has now rejected his third offer for a potential rematch with boxing heavyweight Anthony Joshua.

Lowball would be less than what they are earning. For Miller it is many times more, for Whyte the last offer is reasonable. They always get negotiating power on the rematch if they win. The fact is both of them have no confidence in winning and so want a big one off payment.oogiebe wrote: ↑30 Jan 2019, 14:01Amazing AJ is having difficulty finding a fight. Re: Whyte rejects third offer to fight Joshua
I'm referring to the opening offers as being low-balled, and based on it being a title bout. Whether we agree or not, both Miller and Whyte (more so) weren't happy with opening bids. The whole thing is utterly ridiculous.KiwiRider wrote: ↑30 Jan 2019, 14:08Lowball would be less than what they are earning. For Miller it is many times more, for Whyte the last offer is reasonable. Miller asked for 50/50?
Lol
Hearn needs to get tough on these clowns and just stop negotiating at some point. He looks like a pushover upping the price for whyte every time. Folks are going to play him for a fool.

Re: Whyte rejects third offer to fight Joshua
IDK if the 50/50 ask is true or not. I haven't seen that in print. Hearn should just introduce a new name to the mix and Whyte and/or Miller will snap to attention.Riddick Blowe wrote: ↑30 Jan 2019, 14:26 Miller asked for 50/50?

Re: Whyte rejects third offer to fight Joshua
AJ should just fight mandatories and unifications from now on. Gets all this bullshit out of the way. Ensures everyone earns their shot and stops them from claiming AJ is ducking or lowballing if there is an enforced split. Whoever doesn't want it (AJ or challenger) is clearly ducking...
Re: Whyte rejects third offer to fight Joshua
If this is true then I couldn’t care less if Whyte gets a shot or not now, he’s a contender that’s been offered a shot a the title for millions but it’s less than he wants, jeez man, take the damn shot, bank the money and if you win it’s happy days, it’s pathetic, the champ calls the shots so just deal with it if you really think you can win.
Re: Whyte rejects third offer to fight Joshua
But Oggie, there isn't a new name to add to the mixoogiebe wrote: ↑30 Jan 2019, 14:28IDK if the 50/50 ask is true or not. I haven't seen that in print. One of them Chinese blokes?
No money or entertainment there.
Kownacki?
Meh, not known well enough.
I've run out of ideas already.
He has cleaned out the division except for Wilder Fury and neither want it yet.
Re: Whyte rejects third offer to fight Joshua
That would be too easy. LOL! Actually Hearn and AJ are so used to having total control over the division championship, now with Fury/Wilder the focus has come off AJ, and I don't think they are easily accepting that. Pick one guy and make the f'ng fight already.joshj909 wrote: ↑30 Jan 2019, 14:35 AJ should just fight mandatories and unifications from now on. Gets all this bullshit out of the way.
