Haye v Ismail Abdoul
David Haye makes the next defense of his Euro title against Ismail Abdoul, not the most exciting match-up out there , but Abdoul is a durable type of guy. only stopped once in his career. Abdoul has only just stepped back up to the cruiserweight divison, in October of last year he was boxing for the WBF light heavy title.
Looks like a marking time type of defense this, I'd expect haye to be to big for Abdoul, probably a mid round stoppage win for Haye.

Haye's struggle to make the weight needsto be addressed. Did you any of you read the report of his last fight in Boxing Monthly?
Haye said he did not eat for two days prior to the weigh-in, and when still weighed in 1lb over the limit of 14st 4lbs, he had to wear three tracksuits when he went for a run to lose the excess!
Jesus, not eating for a whole two days & training aswell!
There's struggling to make the weight, and then there's the above, IMO! If it's true, Haye needs to be careful. Too much emphasis on his weight making could be his undoing against someone he's favoured to beat!

My problem here is that, yes, Haye may go 12 rounds. But will they be worthwhile rounds? If Abdoul comes in with the same mindset as he did against Maccarinelli, Haye will be doing whatever he wants for the full distance. Not a great way of learning how to do 12 hard rounds.steve689 wrote:Not surprised by this matchup to be honest, was wondering to see how long before Haye fought Abdoul. This will be a good test to see if Haye can go 12 rounds, however Abdoul is more of a survivor and will probably tighten up and look to take shots.
I'd still like to see Haye-Hobson. And Haye-Enzo is a potential thriller. I go against the grain and pick Macca, btw. I think that whilst Haye has more talent, the big Welshman has more of a fighting heart. And he can definitely do 12 hard rounds.
