EBU heavyweight champ Agit Kabayel will, according to the EBU, defend the title on March 2 in Magdeburg on a SES promotion.

The opponent will be Ukrainian Andriy Rudenko, 32-3, who returned late December after being inactive since losing to Alexander Povetkin in July of 2017.

This voluntary defence came about after mandatory challenger Otto Wallin stepped aside after his trainer Joey Gamache had been seriously injured after being attacked in New York.

Rudenko is a tough boxer.

Will be a good test for Kabayel.

Shame about Wallin. Hopefully we’ll see him fight Kabayel soon.
