GGG offered a two-fight deal worth around $45 million ?

Post by apollo creed »

According to sources Hearn made a big offer to GGG. 45 M's for two fights it's a very generous offer. :TU:

Fantastic deal for sure. I'd like to know which two fights. Canelo 3 is almost certainly one of 'em they have in mind, but I'd be curious as to what the other one is

Probably Andrade to get that WBO strap then unify with Canelo.

Hearn needs to get back on track in his quest to be the Kingpin of world boxing.

I heard it is $10 mil per fight which is good too provided they are not against Canelo.

I’d be surprised if Andrade was one of the opponents on GGG-alleged two-fight deal, since the inactive American hasn’t really got a following, his resume is less-than-impressive and 'Boo Boo' is already mandated to defend his WBO strap against Billy Joe Saunders, even though the winner of any potential match-up between Demetrius and Gennady could unify all four 160lbs titles against the victor of the Cinco de Mayo fight between Canelo and Jacobs.

A rematch against Canelo and perhaps a bout against Callum Smith may be big enough events, since some of the DAZN/Matchroom expenditure for the Kazakh’s bout against the 168lbs Brit would be off-set by the UK PPV revenue generated by Sky.

It seems that Matchroom and DAZN are really trying to make a statement by signing (or at least televising) boxing’s pound-for-pound elite, such as: Naoya Inoue’s most recent outing; Hearn potentially winning the purse bid for the Lomachenko-Crolla fight; Sor Rungvisai & Usyk signing with Matchroom; Canelo's new deal; Matchroom attempting to sign GGG; Donnie Nietes potentially facing Khalid Yafai in the near future; and the list goes on-and-on...

GGG is on high horses. He deserves it. He worked very hard to be in this position. Andrade would take the GGG fight.

It's not about Andrade taking the fight, it's more about how much money DAZN and Matchroom can earn from staging a bout between GGG and 'Boo Boo'. I have the feeling that they'd try to get their money's worth out of their investment. And I'm not sure that a fight between Golovkin and Andrade would generate enough money for Matchroom and DAZN.

Let's be honest, GGG might deserve a big payday, but Andrade definitely doesn't. The American doesn't really generate any significant financial interest in his bouts. I can't help thinking that Gennady has far bigger fish to fry,

If you're an Andrade die-hard, then I truly apologise for my seemingly slanderous words. It's simply my opinion, based on: previous paydays; quality of resume; activity; accomplishment; and audience figures.

I could be wrong, GGG's name alone could be "big"enough for DAZN and Matchroom to carry the promotion of a bout between Golovkin and Andrade.

GGG as a possible wbo champion would make more sense for a Canelo unification trilogy. GGG could get 5 M's vs Andrade and then 40 vs Canelo III. :TU:

I'd love to see GGG take this deal. Based on what I've seen of Andrade, I think GGG could easily win the WBO belt and fight Canelo in a unification match (assuming Jacobs loses). I don't really think a GGG vs. Andrade bout would generate big money, but it seems like DAZN has plenty of Russian oil money to burn. GGG deserves to get PAID.

apparently ggg would get a soft fight first, not sure they are looking to match him with andrade. why have him either get beat and no canelo, or have him beat another dazn guy that couldve also been used for canelo?

You're right, they're probably saving Andrade for Canelo. We'll probably get a weak Canelo-Fielding level showcase for GGG's first DAZN fight.

Andrade is pretty soft based on his fights. Even at this stage GGG would stop him.

I'd say Andrade is on a par with Monroe Jr that GGG beat at that time.

In all honesty, he hasn't got much more than 2 fights left in him so he should be paid well.

A lot of American boxing insiders and media pundits are really big on Demetrius Andrade, but I’m not entirely sure why, because he’s hardly set the sport of boxing on fire with his accomplishments and form in the pro ranks. He seems to have a decent reputation though.

Perhaps there’s a hidden side to ‘Boo Boo’ that he’s yet to unveil inside the ring. :-?

I would understand if it was Jacobs, but Andrade, wtf ?

IMHO Derevyanchenko, Lemieux, Brant and Sulecki would beat Andrade clearly.
