CBS Sports: AJ/Miller Confirmed for June 1st or 8th

Post by oogiebe »

CBS SPORTS: Unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua is coming to America.

The sport's biggest global star has agreed to terms for a defense of his WBA, WBO and IBF world titles against fellow unbeaten Jarrell "Big Baby" Miller in Joshua's U.S. debut at New York's Madison Square Garden, according to Friday's report from Mike Coppinger of The Ring.

Boy, there have been reports about everything from talks with Fury, to Whyte, to Miller, to even Pulev. This is more like it and I hope it's verified.

Other reports stated Whyte would headline at Wembley vs someone else on April 13th and then a fight with AJ late summer/fall.

I totally agree. It's so frustrating to hear all the rumors and innuendos. We even heard Klitchko. Hearn is a nightmare, and so is his golden goose. They need to shut the f'k up and fight someone.

I like it :TU:

Sure Miller might get smashed up, but I'd rather see it than see a repeat of Joshua-Whyte 1.

I'd say Pacquiao is a much bigger global star. Sports fans, not just boxing fans, know his name.

I don't think that Joshua's name recognition remotely approaches Pac's.

I'd include Mayweather too, but let's respect his claim to being retired.

Well I was going to sign up to DAZN for Alvarez vs Jacobs anyway but if not then I would sign up to it to watch this bout.

Can't knock his record. This will be the fourth of the current top 10/12 and throw in Klitchko, despite his age, that's five. I'm no fan, but his resume is undeniable.

As useless as I find pulev I'd rather him get that out of the way than fight Miller.

Promoters never like the media spoiling the party by being the ones to announce a fight has been signed.

Do the promoters always deny it so they can hold a glitzy presser and break the news.

Hearn is just posturing. He knows full well it's a done deal.

A couple weeks ago, Arum was denying Crawford-Khan was made too. Until he announced it.

It's a mandatory, so I can see your point. We've seen just about every name mentioned in some sort of rumor regarding an opponent for AJ. Such a joke when Hearn is involved.

The last thing I need is another reason to hate promoters.

I wanted Pulev to fight Joshua, but this will be a good one, and there's a good chance Miller might win. As I've been saying, there's a good chance that the two Brooklyn fatties, Big Baby and Baby Face, might both become champs. Pass the pierogis!

LOL! Don't forget the sour cream!

Maybe if Miller fights AJ, Pulev gets Miller's spot in the WBA tournament. :maybe:

If wilder cured cancer he'd call it a conspiracy.
