Hey I'm in love with the kid, but he's only 24 and had 7 fights (not counting the DQ). He's no where near being discussed in the same sentence as Fury or Wilder.
Well, AJ was as at similar age and fights, so why not?
Efe is clearly not ready for top competition. I cannot believe you are even suggesting it. AJ had a more extensive amateur career, and besides, who did AJ fight in his 8th fight?

I don't know, but sure lower level of competition then Amir Mansour.
Amir is toast. His name is bigger but his skills have eroded greatly. Anyway. Efe is at least a year (and more probably two) away.

Oké, either Konstantin Airich or Denis Bakthov, it matters weather you count the guy that walked away or not.
Current Amir Mansour is better then Konstantin Airich and Denis Bakthov, and will probably remain that till the age of 50, unless Ajagba gives him some brain damage in march.
Ranking wise it's more or less on par. So give him another year or two as AJ had, before he fought Whyte. :TU:

My spider sense tingles. I figure Mansour will eventually pull out and be replaced by a non-entity.

Mansour still believes he can be a factor in the heavyweight division. Those dreams would be destroyed if he got quickly bounced around by a green prospect.

Nah, the bout won't happen.

Well, I certainly hope your spidey senses are off here. I don't see anyone taking Mansour as a legitimate threat now or in the future.

WE don't. But fighters don't always (never?) see themselves realistically.

Someone will whisper in Mansour's ear that "you don't need this kid. They're building him up as the Next Big Thing and so you'll never get a square deal fighting him. You'll knock him out but they'll disqualify you. You'll get hit once and they'll stop the fight."

Mansour will listen, eventually agree, and then disappear with that favorite standby, the mysterious elbow injury.

Anyways, he probably fantasizes that he's next in line for a shot at the Charr-Oquendo winner. Why spoil it?

Amir Mansour rocks! Ajagba is a beast ... an untested beast. Mansour had trouble dealing with Hrgovic's massive size advantage in his last outing. Ajagba is the same size as Hrgovic, if not bigger. This doesn't bode well for the 46 year old Mansour ... but I think we can all agree that Mansour has proudly earned the nickname "Hardcore".

Solid step up. Mansour always brings it, but I doubt he'll have it in him to beat this Ajagba kid who has looked like a tough, powerful guy so far.

I'm not gonna credit him with a lot of skill just yet because I haven't seen enough of him to judge his skills really, but he has legit power, and I think he should be talented enough to be able to deal with Mansour.

If nothing else, Mansour will have all sorts of trouble with Efe's "freakish" 88" reach.

Mansour might have the advantage on the inside actually. He's usually been a pretty good inside fighter, just a question of whether or not he can get inside on Ajagba.

Mansour's age ain't doing him any favors here. I don't figure he'll be quite as aggressive as he was before, but I don't recall seeing him fight since Breazeale honestly, and that seems like a while back. I know he's fought since then, but I don't recall having seen it or how he looked in those performances.

We haven't had the chance to see Efe on the inside. So we don't know what he's capable of. I think this fight will go the same as Lennox Lewis vs Donovan Ruddock.

Maybe, but Mansour has never done anything to even be on the level of a Ruddock.

I'm not saying he is, nor is Efe on the level of that LL. I am saying that it's a similar step-up for Efe at his CURRENT level.

I'm sure we can but on top of the hardcore is the tarmac and sadly the tarmac has been worn down by time and has melted in the heat. Road ahead closed.

Watch him. He's got the goods. 88" reach...heavy heavy punch. Great body and decent movement. I think you'll be impressed.
