I think the main reason he wanted 14 weeks is for increased drug testing.

If Dillian truly wanted to fight AJ he could have started training a month ago. It isn't like he hasn't known about the Wembley date since about June of last year and it doesn't take a genius to work out that their number one target wasn't guaranteed to want to play ball. So he could have done a full camp and ended up fighting a lesser opponent, that would be annoying and disappointing but hardly disastrous.

I don't blame him but I don't think Whyte really wants to fight Joshua right now, he would really like to fight Wilder.

He had a fight a month ago. Has anyone seen him say that? Sounds like the same kind of B's Eddie spits about wilder.

Yeah he fought Chisora 22 Dec so I guess he's entitled to his Christmas pud, before getting back into training. Tbf if that was unreasonable then that's on me. I wasn't quoting Hearn.

I still don't think Dillian really wanted AJ at this time though. He's not a stupid man and he must realize a second loss isn't beyond the bounds of possibility. That wouldn't do his fledgling PPV career a lot of good.

I know it won't happen, but I'd love to see Whyte/Povetkin. That gets rid of one of the fighters AJ's already beaten, and should be a pretty fair scrap.

Well he's on the short-list probably in third place, because if his goal is the green belt, Breazeale is the obvious choice followed by Ortiz. Breazeale would appear to be the least risky too, and it seems Dillian is wearing this thinking-head more frequently of late.

Povetkin seams the most likely for april 20th considering Breazeale wants the fight to be in the states.

Yeh. And Povetkin has said he will return in either UK or USA. Not that he’s ever fought in US before.

Looks like Whyte has got what he wanted.

Eddie Hearn has just told TalkSPORT that he expects Dillian Whyte to forget about fighting in April and instead focus on facing Dominic Breazeale in July.

Joseph Parker will be facing Dereck Chisora instead on the 20th April.
