Recognizes something that might be a big opportunity. Won’t shock me at all if he wins. Alvarez is expecting no world beater.
That's what I bet. Expecting to be clenching cheeks the last 9 minutes. Moraes too.
The longest shot (besides a draw) is Kovalev by decision.

The site I use has it +600.

Kovalev is listed at +275 to win by KO. Those are the same odds posted for Alvarez to win by decision.

Shortest odds are Alvarez by KO at +140.

Overall, Alvarez is a -175 favorite. I think Kovalev was a 4-1 favorite in the first fight.
I've already bet on kovalev by dec

Kovalev was ahead on all cards in their previous fight. If he just boxes, he can win this one.

I think that’s two smart posts in a row for you dude. I’m going to get T-shirt’s made up for you and sell them on here. Kovalev is the best 6 round fighter in Light Heavyweight history. What’s Buddy Girt gonna do in one camp? If he doesn’t get KO, Kovalev will either struggle to the finish and lose by a fairly close decision bc of early effective rounds or get knocked out. I’m betting on the latter.

Ward took the wind out of his sails and Alvarez drowned him.

Kovalev can't bully Alvarez and that's 90% of his game. He's been undressed as a guy who got by before on power and intimidation.

The intimidation factor is now lost. Kovalev has been KO'd twice in his last 5 fights and has lost 3 of them. He's reduced to being a petulant whiner who grasps at one excuse after another when his ass is handed to him.

He can be in great shape tonight. Doesn't matter. Alvarez has his number.

The champion is more multifaceted in the ring and brings a more imaginative arsenal.

Watch Kovalev make his predictable excuses tonight after he's beaten again. He'll call Alvarez lucky and add that he wasn't 100% focused because of his legal troubles.

But he'll be beaten because Alvarez is simply better and Kovalev was never the all conquering monster he was viewed as when he had his run several years ago.

This is why we follow the sport - the sheer unpredictability of it all (outside of Las Vegas of course where all the vested interests and huge investments can't coexist with notions of a sporting contest).

Very few of us here saw a Kovalev points wins beforehand. I expected a similar result as the first fight, given what else may or may not be happening in his life. Alvarez had no answer to this version of Kovalev. Even the big shots he landed had less effect this time.

interesting enough the betters on this site really honed in on kov by decision, i think there was at least diddy, onetime, and rky ahead of time all saying they were throwing down on that

I specifically like "Alvarez is simply better" than the guy who outboxed Ward in their first fight.

Alvarez, stoppage aside, got his ass kicked by Kovalev across 2 fights. He lucked out in the first fight as Kovalev gassed from overtraining and overconfidence. Kovalev has always been the superior fighter. Kovalev needed to be knocked down a peg to get serious about his career. JDJ used to say how full of himself he was and he didnt listen to him. It was definitely him telling the truth, and not a jaded former trainer. Kovalev got caught up with being the Krusher and thought he could just bowl over everyone at any level but thats not how it works in this business. You're eventually gonna run into guys you need other skills to beat besides power. He has those skills. It's just now he realizes he needs to use them to win.
