I like Ted, local boy and that, but this is a gigantic step-up. I agree that his record compared to a lot of the British fighters we get shoved down our throats is brilliant, but he's shown the last few fights he isn't too keen on fixing his defence up, which isn't an issue against an over the hill Jones, or a decent-at-best Byfield, but certainly will be Saturday night.
Sounds like Ritson - Patera mark two, but fingers crossed for Ted, the ability is definitly there and he will have to get some early work in. Up the Lions!

Interesting prediction mate, I have to admit that I don't know a lot about Garcia. Cheeseman will be heavy favourite so if you're right then you'll be quids inRiddick Blowe wrote: ↑30 Jan 2019, 14:40Ricky Fowler you mean?
Garcia will tee off on cheeseman. Ted is too green for this , he’ll be below par on the night, he’ll need an iron chin and wood struggle to get past 8 rounds, Sergio has the drive and the range to get this done, I will be putting some wedge on him as the fight approach, I bet ted will be flagging as the course of the fight goes on, i predict he will fade and Sergio will draw inspiration from that, hopefully this doesn’t go long as there’s no fairway Garcia wins on the cards it might be a rough decision

I’ve never seen either guy, I just wanted to do some puns. I was planning to watch some footage today to see if I stand by my predictionStuarty wrote: ↑31 Jan 2019, 23:24Interesting prediction mate, I have to admit that I don't know a lot about Garcia. Looking forward to this fight . Really think cheese could go on
to a world title.but it starts here. I agree with some people with cheese wanting to mix it some times when he don't need to.i think in the early fights yea because you have to sell tickets in this game .but he is noticed now .he can box smarter don't dont need to take unessary shots i think the cheese will stop the Spaniard late

Re: Ted Cheeseman vs. Sergio Garcia - 2 February 2019
garcia schooled him, a few ppl said before that garcia was unproven but he already had multiple ebu level wins, just a level or 2 above cheese, this was much worse then ritsons loss

Absolute disgrace that they didn’t pull Cheeseman out of there.
In round 9 and after there where moments he couldn’t raise his hands to defend himself due to exhaustion.
Ref and corner just seemed happy for him to take flush shots without any form of defence.
The sky commentary team didn’t even mention it. Macklin seemed pissed off from round 3 onwards because Andy Clarke disagreed with his card.
Credit to Cheeseman. Zero quit in him. Last thing he needed was a brave corner.
Needs time to recover.

I think they wanted to give Ted a moral victory and go the distance. No stoppage loss needed.PredatorHayds wrote: ↑03 Feb 2019, 14:43 Absolute disgrace that they didn’t pull Cheeseman out of there.

I disagree though.

Garcia has been put at #8 SWW by boxrec after despatching Ted.
Well deserved. A little highly ranked to have a go at Munguia, but I'm sure he will have a chance at one of the top guys this year.

Yeah but it is usually better than the ABC rankings to have a snapshot of where a fighter is in the world. The only accurate ranking is the boxrec forum HW ranking, now that's flippin' gospel mate

True..... ABC orgs just rank randomers tbh. Whoever owns their regional belts will get ranked higher.KiwiRider wrote: ↑03 Feb 2019, 15:44Yeah but it is usually better than the ABC rankings to have a snapshot of where a fighter is in the world.
