Dont really understand the hate tbh.

Whyte Vs Breazeale (would obviously prefer Ortiz/Pov)
Parker Vs Chisora
Hunter Vs Takam
Allen Vs Browne
Wardley Vs a step-up journeyman (Little / Sokolowski ??)

Seems like a good night of HW boxing to me. Would rather pay 20quid for that then say Joshua vs Miller at 4am.
Thing is many of us already pay a subs fee for Sky Sports.. paying extra is bullshît.

Adam Smith claims Sky are heavily invested in boxing yet, the decent shows we have to pay extra for. Surely they have a bigger budget.

Unless it’s the boxers being greedy about the purses.

It’s like when Whyte fought Parker. They wanted big purses. Their base purse for the fight was only £1m each.. fair enough a non-title bout but should they have been paid more?

The rest of their purses was made up of PPV sales.

The event generated around £9.5m

Half goes to Sky?

The remainder gets splits between fighters, managers, promoters etc.

I’m not a massive fan of Dillian Whyte but if Whyte were to take (say for example 20 or 25%) for a fight with AJ for fight 1 then so be it. And as Eddie says, a champion making a voluntary will always have a remtach clause. Except the terms of the rematch still would have Whyte as the b side in terms of the money split. That can’t be right nor reasonable.

Eddie keeps saying that fighters should basically take a poo deal for a shot at the titles, which if they are successful will earn them millions moving forward. Except the fight after winning the titles will see them playing second fiddle to the ousted champion financially. Poor move by Hearn and a likely reason why deals are not being done.

Whyte has done amazing under Hearn and Sky and so I’m sure when all is said and done he will not forget that and will tow the line. But would AJ really deserve the lion’s share in a rematch if Whyte were to beat him?

AJ said he wanted to be boxing's first billionaire.
Since then has he just become far too greedy?

Come on, we all know who boxing’s first billionaire will really be.

I’d through a wrestling match with Elton Jon for 5 million
I'd let him win for 1 million.

Dont agree - I think we’d all risk a hiding for a good payday but hes being underpaid and I fink he believes he have a gud chance
If he’s so confident he will win, then take the £5m as a challenger and a rematch he will guarantee a much higher purse.
Wos 5 mill the offer !!???
Apparently so
I believe this was the second offer. The first offer would have seen Whyte get paid less than his Chisora rematch. I’m not sure what the third offer was.
This was the third offer. The first was around 3 million pounds; then 4 million; now this.
Shirley 5 million quid is an offer he should of taken?
Whyte would take that for one fight. But it’s the rematch terms that are the deal breaker. Whyte can’t sign for the fight without also signing for the rematch (should he win) on another poor split.

That poor split was up to 50/50 for the rematch (if whyte won) - From a voluntary shot it doesn't seem so bad.

I've said it before Whyte is happy to milk another couple of PPV and and increase his commercial value in any fight deals with the top 3.

On saying that I would expect Wilder to be the big loser out of the top four heavies in the coming 6 months.

To sell PPV in his next few fights , he's gonna have to face someone decent , above Chisora , domestic level , Then he gets beat , and thats him finished ,
he's a fool , Should of took the 5 mill , and iif he lands his hail mary , left hook and somehow pulles it off , got 50-50 for the rematch , , 5 mill for a loss , then still do ppv against Ortiz and the like , or 5 mill for a lucky win , then 50-50 of a rematch that would probably pull 50 million , and still do ppv with Ortiz ect if he lost that , .

Well thats the thing isnt it.

Sky are obviously not willing to pay for big sky sports shows so Smith talks shite
I pay the subs because i like PL football. Most of the sky sports fight nights were garbage over the last couple of years... Can only remember a handful of good ones.

I think if the ppv breakdown and salary for guys like Hearn & Smith was made public we would see a lot more people switch to 100% streaming. :D

i did hope that Al Haymon would shake things up a bit but with Degale vs Eubank on ppv i guess not. Sticking that on ITV1 would have been a huge investment but surely worth it in the long run if 5million people tune in.
