Barry Hearn Interview - IFLTV
Good link to an interview between KC and BH
Barry actually talks a lot of sense and i enjoyed listening to him. I do however disagree on his opinion that Fury or Wilder are not in AJ's class technically. Obviously Wilder isnt (although he is a huge puncher) but for me, Fury stands, technically, head and shoulders above anyone else in the HW division.

Re: Barry Hearn Interview - IFLTV
I shared a segment of this online, where he says that the winner of Fury and Wilder is worthy of a 50-50 split.
So since last June when Wilder turned down £12.5 million flat fee and Hearn said he was stupid, had never earned that much, would not earn more etc it has turned out interesting.
Wilder has earned just shy of that £12.5 mill in fight number one against Fury - reported on reputable sites to be £10.5million and will earn more in a rematch. A lot more than he would have earned if he had fought AJ. Plus, if he does manage to win, he will get that 50-50 split which is huge.
Hardly seems like a bad move.
On the other hand, AJ has taken on his mandatory of Povetkin, which was a decent match-up, then sat out on a long idle time, lost some lustre, lost some respect and is now struggling to secure a fight.
So Wilder has earned a lot more than Hearn predicted. AJ has earned a lot less.
I would not be pleased if I was AJ

Amazing how high he can shovel bvllshvt! He can't even be consistent. I hate promotors.
Re: Barry Hearn Interview - IFLTV
Obv Eddie is doing the day to day promoters job but it would be interesting to see where the power really lies between Barry and his son, esp when it comes to AJ
Re: Barry Hearn Interview - IFLTV
I agree,Fury is technically the best heavyweight in the worldrhino222 wrote: ↑04 Feb 2019, 13:53 Good link to an interview between KC and BH

Well, as Eddie spews everything under the sun and seems to have it wrong 80% of the time, I'd say you are right to allude to the fact that it's Barry who runs the show and Eddie who runs his mouth.
Re: Barry Hearn Interview - IFLTV
And for example now that Whyte has been offered 5 not 3 million, is that something he would need to clear with his dad first. Because ultimately its Barry's money.

Big Baz is the final word surely?
All promoters are full of it. It’s part of the job description!
What cracks me up is when you get people hating a promoter so much they start talking of said promoters rivals as some sort of bastion of truth.
They are ALL full of shite
An honest promoter is a poor promoter!

Re: Barry Hearn Interview - IFLTV
I'd imagine Barry makes the big decisions behind the scenes and Eddie is the face who does most of the interviews and all of the tweets
Re: Barry Hearn Interview - IFLTV
Barry is the head of Matchroom sport, Eddie is head of boxing for Matchroom sport.
So for all his bluster, Eddie is still Barrry's subordinate, and Barry doesn't seem the sort to keep completely 'hands off'.

Fury's movement and ring awareness are second to none, at heavyweight. However, he does throw a lot of arm punches. He seems to sacrafice power for speed more often than not.Muttley wrote: ↑04 Feb 2019, 15:47I agree,Fury is technically the best heavyweight in the worldrhino222 wrote: ↑04 Feb 2019, 13:53 Good link to an interview between KC and BH

Joshua is the opposite, as he loads up too much, quite often sacrificing speed for power.
Wiilder on the other hand, can throw lightning fast, powerful shots. Often out of nowhere. As poor as Wilder is, this has saved him in his last 2 fights.

It's not, it's Matchroom Boxing's money. I doubt very much they ever have to dive in to Matchroom umbrella money or their own pocketsCoco wrote: ↑04 Feb 2019, 15:57And for example now that Whyte has been offered 5 not 3 million, is that something he would need to clear with his dad first. But Barry owns Matchroom, Eddie is a worker.
In the end, I don't know anything, I'm just speculating how the dynamics work.

I suspect Eddie is more than just a worker. He’s inheriting the lot one day. He’s bound to be a director in the company.

Sometimes I wonder how much of Eddie is an act. Would he take a different approach when he takes over the company.lillywhite14 wrote: ↑05 Feb 2019, 13:47 I suspect Eddie is more than just a worker. He’s inheriting the lot one day. He’s bound to be a director in the company.

..........and thats the beauty of boxing, there are many ways to stick the ball in the net, plus, its surely the only sport (excluding fighting sports) where you can be the equivalent of being 10 nil down with 10 secs to go and still win!!keirw wrote: ↑05 Feb 2019, 06:02Fury's movement and ring awareness are second to none, at heavyweight. Re: Barry Hearn Interview - IFLTV
I think this interview really shows just how , much Barry still remains the Admiral in charge , he has captains for his various ships , Eddie being captain of the biggest , but Barry is stil in charge .
He also shows he's a shrewd buisnessman , who says the right things at the right time , but being ruthless is part of his nature , and a big part of his buisness , Look at him he's thinking all the time , and he knows what he's gonna do , I suspect , he'll get the hump with Whyte , and tell him you think your a star , well its time to put on a show , next few fights are not gonna be gimmee fights , show us your worth or fook off ,,
And to be honest if i was him or Eddie i would have the hump with Whyte as well , theve paid him top dollar and payed for easy fights for him , all to bring him along and get beat by AJ again , which allows a 6 month grace , for marinating the Wilder fight , if Wilder beats Fury , in fact IF that fight happens , It was good sence to actually bring Whyte along and manouvre him into this position ,, It would of meant a fight in April with Whyte , followed by a fight later in the year with Miller excuse being break into the american market ,maybe a mandatory inbetween , the winner of Fury , Wilder could of marinated till early 2020 , and been absolutly colosol . Now AJ has the pressure on him to pay up , go the winner of Whyte -Fury , or risk losing paying casual fans , , Don't be suprised if there reward to Whyte is a hard fight he will probably lose .
But greedy bollocks Whyte , who really has',nt proved himself against any top draw opposition , decides , 5 mill , and 50-50 of a potential 100 mill rematch , if he lands a lucky hail mary punch , is'nt enough , silly prick , he could lose to AJ , and still do ppv after against Ortiz , Miller and a few others . But if he loses to Breazaele , Ortiz , Poletvkin , his ppv value is out the window , and so are his big earnings , and his 5 mill payday against AJ .
I suspect from the body launguage , and the way he's talking , that tHE Eddie is in charge i'm not interested in the boxing except has a spectator , is smoke and mirrors , thats 2 interviews in 1 week he's done , , personaly i think he knows Eddie has got to big for his britches , spread himself too thin , and its gonna effect buisness , so daddy is gonna step in and sort it out , starting with Whyte , , There hurting , they need PPV stars , sky are demanding it , they has a buisness need it , and there just not around , Hence why they threw Cheesman to the wolfs , too much too early for him , so who's next , Barry will sort it out
