Boxing Scene: Joe Gallagher, trainer of WBA super middleweight champion Calllum Smith, says his boxer is very open to the idea of moving up in weight to challenge WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev.
Smith, who captured the WBA title last year by knocking out George Groves and winning the World Boxing Super Series tournament, is looking for the biggest fight possible at 168.
But it does not appear that a high level contest at super middleweight is on the horizon
I can't say I saw this coming. I wonder how Zurdo feels about this!

I doubt that Hearn would be open for that.

Callum Smith would have an excellent chance against Sergey Kovalev.
Any 6’ 3” well-built man should have no problem gaining weight to make the 175lbs limit.
The Krusher seems read-for-the-taking and the Brit needs to engage in a marquee bout.

I can see why he wants to move up as there is not to many big fights to have at super middle but I think he should stay at the weight for now and try and unify. I wouldn't be surprised to see him face the winner of Eubank vs degale later in the year as that would be a big fight in the uk. also there is the possibility of him fighting someone like Canelo or ggg
