From Brook vs. Horn to this in just a space of a day..

It would have been a good ‘unification’ bout back in 2016.. both were undefeated. Both had belts.

Vargas has now drawn 2 consecutive fights.

Brook is looking for the money..

Would still make for a decent DAZN headliner. Why not get it in the UK?

Obviously Hearn is using DAZN money.

Slightly more interesting than Brook vs Horn to me. I'd be interested to see how this one goes. I'd favor Brook ever so slightly, but it wouldn't shock me if Vargas beats him.

:TU:

Which, as it's a bloke who three years ago was a light-welter & who couldn't beat Thomas Dulorme, says rather a lot...

would vargas be moving up to LMW for this. Can't see brook going down to welter for a fight like this.

Brook should’ve been defending his IBF welter title in fights such as this. This is 2 or maybe 2 1/2 years too late, unfortunately. I was a Kell supporter, used to go to the fights. But when he was withdrawing or negotiating himself out of such fights as this but defending vs the easy knockofer IBF mandos I got disillusioned. Just IMO but Kell’s was a badly planned career.

Who would’ve believed that of the Yorkshire fighters, Warrington would be thriving and Brook languishing and struggling to stay relevant, like this?

I see the names are already being used to flesh out matchroom USA. The stable is going to be stretched tight this year I feel.

Jessie Vargas (28-2-2) is looking to kick off his 2019 campaign in the spring. The Matchroom Boxing USA fighter fought twice in 2018 with both of those fights ending in draws against Adrien Broner and Thomas Dulorme.

The former two-division champion is looking to get right back into another big fight and has another former champion on his hit list.

“April 6th is the date I am looking to come back and I would like it to be against Kell Brook,” Vargas told BS.com.

Vargas believes a fight against Brook would be very exciting for the fans.

Brook has campaigned at super welterweight in recent years but reportedly offered to face Khan at the welterweight limit. Vargas is hopeful that he will would agree to those fights to face him as well.

“I believe it would be a fight the fans would enjoy if it happens. The fight would be at 147 and I would prefer for the fight to take place in the US,” said Vargas.

I’ve got a horrible feeling they will try and turn Brook-Smith into a PPV fight later in the year.

Even if it’s USA?

I do believe they were gonna have it a PPV in the UK back on 2016. Who knows.

I do as well. Having Parker v Whyte and Whyte v Chisora really lowered the standards.

Smiths three fight deal will be two easy fights than a big one. Just depends on what Brook does next as that could derail it.

For the record. I'm not arsed.

Brook should be at 154. Just hope he fights Hurd then retires,

Former two-division world champion Jessie Vargas is eager and ready for a showdown with Kell Brook, who at one time held the IBF title at welterweight.

Vargas has accepted terms for a fight with Brook on a date in April in the United States.
As BS.com previously reported, Vargas is now being trained by Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach.

Both Brook and Vargas have a working relationship with Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport.

After being unable to secure the right fights at welterweight, Vargas is more than ready to face the bigger names at 154-pounds.

He hopes to eventually get a crack at WBO junior middleweight champion Jaime Munguia.

"I am very happy to be working with Freddie, he is a very experienced and intelligent coach to design fight strategies, and right now I have no confirmed fight, but I am waiting for the fight with Brook, it is a fight that interests me, they are doing everything possible to confirm the fight and let's see if he accepts," said Vargas to ESPN Deportes.

"I think we are very advanced, and if everything goes well, maybe the next week the fight could be confirmed. For my part, I already accepted the fight, I said that it should be done, but I think he is having doubts, and if he says no, then I'm hoping for an opportunity with Munguía, it's a fight that interests me a lot. I think the fans would like it and their team said yes, but maybe for September, so for now we just wait for Brook."

If it is at 154 I would heavily favour Brook, I feel losing those extra pounds contributed to his poor showing last time out.

vargas has been pretty inactive as well. A fully motivated brook would have been way too much for Vargas at WW or LMW, Just not sure he still has it in him

Brooks own step father 'managed' his career......so the blame should sadly start at home. i dont think Brook dodged anyone, he was unlucky with injuries and the IBF mandatories were crap. simple as.
